ok guys, so i have an entire new set of doors with power options , door panels and wiring included, im going to swap this into my celica but im stuck.

how do you get into the door, like to disconnected/reconnect the power window regulator, or take off the manual one? theres no space, how would you replace the window? it seems as if there has got to be away to take off the inner most piece of metal so that you have access to the doors innards, is this possible?

how would a shop do it.

thanks

does the regulator come out when you remove the glass? so possibly you take the entire glass piece out and it comes with the power window motor?

The glass is held on by bolts only and will slide out the top once the bolts are out(and maybe the rubber stopper came out before too...I can't remember. I had to replace my driver's side window and it came out without much effort. I didn't have to touch my aftermarket power window motors either...I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have to touch stock power window motors either to replace the glass.

the bgb guide on celicatech says to remove the glass to change the stock power window motor, but it is very vauge, thats why i posted here.

i just dont see a way to get down in there, to hte inside of the door were the track for the window is, etc.

I might go home tonight. If I do, I'll pull the door panels off of my parts car that has power options and see what I can figure out. I've been meaning to take the car apart anyway.

if it will help you get started i know the window is held on to the regulator with 3 bolts that you can get to when its up just a little or through service holes when it is all the way up, you have to angle the window to get it out without taking the stoppers off... the regulator is help on by 2 bolts on the top and 2 bolts and 1 nut at the bottom, the motor is held on by three bolts and the regulator and motor are connected, they will slide out the big hole in the door frame. if that doesnt help ill get the pictures later when i do it.

i think ive hit a major dent in the plan, the wires that go to the door locks and door handle are integrated and dont appear to be removed by a plug and such, youd have to get into that whole assembly.

i think i am just going to use the black doors on the red celi untill i can get a paint job
