QUOTE(Jeremy1210 @ Mar 27, 2006 - 6:27 AM)

To be honest, with just finishing it and selling it, then getting mad when people ask why you are selling it sounds kinds fishy...

When did I get mad?

To be honest, if you think it's fishy don't buy it. Did you just post on my FS thread to say that? I invite anyone to come out and test drive my car. I just drove it to work which is 20 miles from my house and it ran perfect.

Here's my reason for selling, if you guys are dying to know...it's not because I had post-swap problems, not because I'm broke... nothing like that... I want this car:

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/142331299.html

Like I said before. I'm getting a comfy daily driver, a Solara. I've answered plenty of questions to potential buyers already through PM.

If you're not interested in buying my car, please don't clutter my thread. Thanks.

Hmm this is nice, I was actually thinking about building me this but since it's for sale... Just curious... Why don't you referee it to get the BAR sticker to make it fully legal? The 3sgte was in the U.S. until 95 (mr2) so therefore a 94/95 should be a legal swap correct?

i think the fact that you welded your intercooler piping together should shut all the skeptics up period, not many people would do the swap terribly then spend money making a welded intercooler piping setup!

I sold him the 3sgte swap and FMIC set up like that, already welded. It was done up north by Evolution in Sacramento. The car is GREAT people, he's not shady, its a great buy.

But if I were you guys, and if you are truely interested, I would jump on this buy soon, before it goes up for sale like on EBAY and it sell for $8,000 +. So, $6000 DOES NOT sound like a bad price.

6000 bucks is like chump change to me. i make that much every time i blink. but the parents don't see why i should get another celica that is almost identical to mine. plus the fact that it has an illegally swapped turbocharged engine. actually they don't know about the illegal part. they just don't want me driving something faster than 110 hp. sorry... good luck with the sale though. actually, i'm kinda hoping you'll keep it. so then maybe you can let me drive it at the next meet.

I know you said that you don't want us posting if we're not interested in buying, but I hope this will help you sell your car....

To those of us in California:
You CAN SMOG a car with a different motor IF:
The engine is a California SMOG legal engine (the engine came from anoter car that you COULD have SMOGed here. JDM's are not Cali SMOG ready).
The engine comes from a similar type of vehicle (Passanger vehicle vs Commercial vehicle).
The engine came from a car the same year as yours, or newer (this gets tricky with production years overlapping).
The engine has all the original smog equipment from donor vehicle.

If the swap meets these qualifications, you call up CHP and tell them you want your car reffed (or blue stickered). They will set you up with an appointment to go into a CHP Ref place which will check your car out (mostly making shure it still has all the original smog equipment) and then put a blue sticker in your door jam. Then you go to local SMOG shop and smog it.

My old room mate did this with his Honda (put an Integra motor in this Civic), so I know it can be done legally. If you have questions on this, check out the DMV and CHP web sites.
