Those have the pleasure of being called 'interfoolers' in some car club circles..

I wouldn't recommend it, even with the plexan shield it has in the front. A good, properly ducted cold air intake would be just as good, if not better.

Something like that could also be more susceptible to hydrolock, I'd bet money on that getting fully submerged in water before a cone filter in my upper wheel well would.

That's not how intercoolers work anyways... intercoolers need air to pass through it. That looks more like a big filter.

someone has it on here, i think madmods not to sure though, ive talked to somoene with it and they said it was good, obvsiously gets a lot of air from there

It seem so funny for me!!
Why dont they add a turbo on that tube to give more pressure and maybe a NOS bottle to collect the water that the tube will have after driving to rain?
As a previus guy said, it is just an "interfooler"..
