What happens to the little hook that holds the driver's side in place? Does it need to be removed for these to fit?

they look great in the car but a little modification needed to make them fit the way they are supposed to. i had to make a few new bends.

just a word of advice.. dont buy these if u plan on replacing ur floor mats.. use em for show or the material wears down horribly..
