So no more than 3 weeks ago my brother got a Yamaha YZF600R. Brand new.

Well yesterday he was driving down the road and A semi truck in front of him had stopped. So he stops behind it and is watching the driver in the Semi's side mirror. The semi started drifting back (useing the trailor weight to pull him back.. not reverse). My brother was on the horn, but the driver didn't do anything. At the last minute he had to drop the bike and run. The driver backed over his bike and it was probably half way over it until he stopped.

Results are as follows:

That truck driver should have to pay for that.

He has insurance, but the truck driver said he would pay for all of it, just send him the bill. So my brother is going to let him know how much it will cost (I figure about 1800ish) and if he doesn't want to pay it, then he will take it to insurance and file a police report.

the truck driver probably doesnt want the company to know about it, it would probably cost him his job. So if the repairs would cost $1800, they would really cost $2800, get my drift ;-)

dont they weigh like 200-300 lbs or something, maybe i didn't catch it, but why couldn't your brother just pull out and drag the bike with him?

I guess this happened on a "uphill"... I'd just jump out and make sure my life is safe. At the end it's just a bike, I wouldn't wanna die with it under the truck lol

It happened at the top of a hill. They were on basically flat ground, but still a slight incline.

Its not as easy as it sounds. Bikes are pretty heavy. After he realized the truck wasn't going to stop, it was too close for him to put the bike in neutral, and drag it out of the way, and too close for him to turn around.
