UPDATE: Celica is NOT going to be going to this meet. Today was a bad day, rained like crazy and my volvo decided to shut off in the middle of the road, isn't that just my luck? So anyways, i stood out in the rain, in the middle of the road fixing my car, and the hazards wouldnt even come on, soo yeah. bad day . Im not letting the Volvo drive me to this meet either. I'll see what other line up of cars i have to choose from though . Does anyone else think there is a sign here? telling me not to go to this meet? haha w/e i'll just ignore them.

I think the response to the weather is being exaggerated.

From all the forecast models I've seen, the only precipitation we'll be seeing is scattered afternoon thunderstorms in Philadelphia. Thats totally normal for a balmy summer afternoon in the Northeast, I'm willing to bet that its going to be a warm and muggy day with scattered clouds, and then later in the evening a thunderstorm will roll though and be gone. Nothing more.

Lets not get too scared of a quick evening storm, i'm sure the meet will be fine. The forecast looked MUCH worse for the last CSP meet and worse yet two years ago in Philly when a hurricane was rolling up the coast. Both times the show went on. Perhaps we should shoot for more like 11-12 noon as the arrival time so that even if theres a quick thunderstorm that rolls through, we will have gotten an earlier start on things....just an idea.

I'll be in Philly Friday-Sunday, so if anybody wants to call me regarding the weather that morning please feel free to do so.

You have to stop and think of people have to drive far to get to this meet! I personally am not going to take stupid chances like driving a rare car that never sees rain in the first place.(70mph in rain for 6hours and possibly hydro it into a big ball of scrap metal.) If i only lived 30 min away i would be sounding different saying "a little water wont hurt" you need to think from other people point of view a little. I know if you local philly guys found out it was going to rain the day of an ohio meet .....you would not be 100% on going there now would you? Move the meet a little closer my way to York PA and i would go 100% rain or shine. Sorry I sound anti meet but rain and meets just dont mix.
Anyway, silv94celi are you going to post a number we can call you??? And you need to raise your right hand and promise to tell the truth when people call ya for a rain report .....

sorry, corey, didnt mean so sound over dramatic about it, but for us right now, our tires havent arrived as of yet, and a 600mile trip on 90% worn tires, with any possibility of rain, is just a no go.
not to mention i just REALLY cant afford it.
i mean, sure, i could go, and with the extra $$ im making by selling the stuff to you, and art, i could make the weekend, but, i'd be TOTALLY broke all of next week, and oddly enough, i enjoy eating..lol j/k

I didn't mean to sound like I was questioning you guys about coming to the meet due to weather, I can TOTALLY understand if you guys either can't or don't feel comfortable taking the car that far in questionable conditions. I just figured I'd present a little bit of encouragement because last night the forecast didn't look nearly so dismal as it does now. However i wouldn't be encouraging you guys come to the meet if it were raining that day, that would suck of me.....I'm not like that.

Again, nothing personal with you Dave, i don't blame you....comming to a meet is supposed to be enjoyable, not a nail-biting experience. BTW if anyone would like my cell number, I prefer you PM me for it.


In case anybody is in town and wants to do something, I just checked into my hotel about half hour ago and I'm here. It poured rain on I95 for about 15-20 minutes of my trip today, so we'll see about tommorrow.

well the weather looks great right now here too. but i just watched the news and they are calling for sever rain starting tonight and all day tomorrow..

so the meet is officially CANCELD.

needless to say, im not happy, but what can u do.
if anyone had a room reserved, make sure you call mote6 sometime today to cancel so that they dont try to bill you
