how do you know that?....stock manifold can support 400whp...(more then ANYONE on this site)
i'm not trying to supress your idea, i'm pushing for real facts and R&D not someone saying well it will work my a$$ dyno thinks so |

just because people have made 400 whp on the stock manifold doesnt make that manifold better.. if your making 400 whp on the stock manifold chances are youll make more with the exact setup + a tubular manifold.

BUT one of those crappy ebay ones are not gonna help ya. for 99.9% of us, i just cant see putting 900-1200$ into a REAL manifold, when the stock one is more than adequate. and if you want to see a REAL manifold, check out the one full-race makes. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

i agree manny, i was merely commenting to make sure people werent thinking that log > tubular because stock > SSautocrap

i also never said that the stock manifold was the best there was for the motor either....full-race will defenitly out perform a stock one...but if all your doing is bending tubes to a cool shape and claiming sum BS number well then thats no good..an improper design (like the one on your car brian) acts like a radiator releasing heat temperature (energy) from the exhaust gases...this causes a power loss..not much but it does...hotter gases = better spool and kinetic energy..with proper design, materials and labor a tubular manifold can be beneficial over the stock...but you can't claim anything (like someone already did) without actually producing 1 and testing it...thats all i'm sayin if your not totally power oriented and you want some bling then by all means its fine...but if your function over form then there is a difference

id like to see dyno tests of the ssautocrap vs stock, id think the ssautocrap would win to be honest.
IMO its the quality that is flawed.. |

Less restriction in a force induced car = HP gain...simple as that! These manifolds take this kid atleast 15 labor to make them becuase he is so intricate with each length and it is made out of high grade stainless steel...furthermore the steel he uses helps retains the heat to create a faster spool (without jeopardizing teh integrity of the steel). I am planning on buying one for my car and once i do i will prove that it does make a difference.

IMO its the quality that is flawed.. actually, it HAS been tested. berk tech makes basicly the identical manifold to the ones ssautocrap sells. there was a small gain, atributed to a rise in boost level. QUOTE furthermore the steel he uses helps retains the heat to create a faster spool (without jeopardizing teh integrity of the steel). youll be hard-pressed to find stainless bends as thick as the cast manifold, that will hold in heat as well. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Bigal like i said.....take it out test it, flow bench it, get it ona dyno then when you can PROVE it flows better, PROVE it retains more heat, and PROVE findings then thats really great...but don't try claiming things before you do that because 1) if your wrong you look like an idiot, 2) someone could potentially end up screwed and you catch the blame for it....oh and BTW just cause you spend 15 hours doesn't mean its top quality...but i'd love to see wat your friend can make and when he's done...test it then come talk about better flow and so forth....you can't claim things will happen without ever having the piece made... |

Then you guys can test one and if price=quality&gains i see potenital to make alot of $$$ since there isn't many (2 or 3?) options for 3sgte manifold. -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

QUOTE(bigal004321 @ May 13, 2006 - 9:06 AM) ...everything is TIG welded, and reiforced mig welded..also made out of heavy duty stainless steel! Bigal LMK if there is any interest and i can talk to the guy and see if he is not too busy to make them.... My personal favorite is his ram horn style manifold! why would he TIG than MIG over it, that would be truely a waste of time.. and it isnt going to make the weld "stronger". AND LIKE I SAID i will test it and prove there is a gain when i get mine, but your gonna have to wait until i get my engine swap done. bigal -------------------- 1994 celica GT.....3sgte in a month! all helpers are welcome!!! i live in Plattsburgh, NY.
