So, ive owned my car for just about or a lil over a year now and when i got it, it had an after market sunroof from ASC (American Sunroofs Corperation). Any ways, I love havin the sun roof. its great in the summer, is awsome for using when its a lil 2 warm in the car, great to have fresh air when its raining without having to worry about it coming into the car. But, ive been havin problems with it from day one. When i got the car, I had to jimmy the glass up, and completely rebuilt the tracks because they were rarely used by the pervious owner. Then, i had the problem of the switch. At some point in time, the previous owner jammed the switch back into the headliner and broke a clip. So my switch was held in place by a garbage back tied around it. Then, after it was working smooth and great for awhile. Found out that it leaks. First time i found out, both me and the gf got soaked when we were caught in a rain storm, and the second time, found my headliner sagging about 5 or 6 inches down from where it was suppost to be, as im about to go 2 school. So, its obvious to say, theres no drain pipe for the sunroof. Now, my 2 big problems are that 1. my sunroof has been sealed shut with about 4lbs of RTV silcone since probably sept or oct last year, and 2. The switch block for the sunroof broke, and i had a wire grounding out and powering my motor constantly. The best part about it is, ive contacted ASC to get a new switch, and a new gasket. Well, turns out they discontinued that model of sunroof a year after it was installed on my car due to "problems" they were having with it. The switch they still made up untill a year ago or so, but the new switch is gonna be close to $120 after taxes and its gonna take 4 months to get shipped up from a wearhouse in the states. So, pretty much ive been left with one hell of a headache, a gaigantic sunroof (like 20x25 or somethin close, it takes up 3/4 of my roof) and no help from any one. Any one else had to deal with somethin like this? How did you get it resolved? I might just save and pay to get a new sunroof put in thats gonna work.

i too have an aftermarket sunroof... mine was made by webasto (australian company) i didnt know until 2 months after i got the celi that it was an aftermarket part... too bad it wasnt the genuine one mine leaks when theirs heavy rain and only when i slightly open the sunroof... bad idea slightly openning it in the first place lol definately sounds familiar gf and i got soaked when this happened and my whole lining of the roof was soaking, apart from that it all works well, switch is okay even though it looks like one ugly thing sticking out of the inside roof and it isnt flush on the roof -R
