so i bought this piece of pipe on ebay with an hks ssq flange already on it, got it today and put the BOV in it (that c clip was a pain in the ass out of the old one though)

i put it all in, and it seems fine, but it spins freely in the flange, like, one finger can make it spin, is this a problem?

more importantly what do i do to fix it?

the clip was a huge pain to get in and i have a feeling it will be a huge pain to get out, do you think i could just put some kind of sealant in there? i know its a more permanent solution but the pipe was only like 10 bucks

junk in = junk out.
buy a REAL hks flange and have it welded properly.

Brian you forgot to mention that you bought non-hks parts.

That one famous rule - you get what you pay for

you forgot to mention that your bov is not a real hks but a fake one.

i own a real hks and a fake one, and the problem is with the bov's and not the flanges. when they copy them, they dont make the part that goes on the flange thick enough. its the only flaw i have found with the knock offs. kind of sad, because other then that they are a perfect copy and work exactly the same

even if you bought an hks flange, you would still have had the same problem. the problem is with your bov

Maybe double up on C-clips to make up for the extra space.

I hope you used the large O ring that goes in between the BOV and the flange.

the real way to fix it, would be to buy a 2nd oring, thats larger then the 1st one (the 1st one is kind of recessed in). that way you would make up for the slight gap, and it would seal air tight.

what sound is the BOV sposed to make when you press the gas and rev it to like 4 grand, cause mine kind of makes a cough sound, and i felt it and air is coming out, but its not as loud as people make the hks (or knock offs) to be, like the PSHHHH sound, its not doing that, does that mean its leaking?

edit: my assumption is that since the turbo isnt spooling all the way up since im not revving high enough its not gonna make the massive noise because it doesnt have much pressure to get rid of
