For four little boxes of goodness packed in two bigger boxes of happiness.
![]() So the wife gets to see them (it's a psuedo christmas present for her) and all she had to say is "Oh my god the cars going to look sooooo f***ing hot with those." ![]() Now, a couple of questions. I'm going to upgrade all the lighting bulbs in the front of the car. Fogs and highs specifically, with either a good PIAA or Sylvania Silverstar bulb. IS the bulb that came in the projectors going to be white enough so as not to look odd next to the upgraded highs or fogs, or should I just pony up the cash for a new set of H1's also? -------------------- |

the oems will be bright but off-colored if you don't match both.

Yah, I'll get pics up this evening. They're beautiful.
Ok, so you guys confirmed what I thought. Looks like I'll be buying some H1's along with the 9005's and fogs too. The little side marker bulbs in the projectors seem to be amber already, or there's an amber reflector in the housing then. All I need to do is find the connectors. On another note, how do I remove the H1 bulb from the projector? Is there a trick release or something. -------------------- |

The projectors side light is amber. But you can change the color. Like my lows are hyper white my highs are hyper white my sidemarkers and blinkers are hyper white and my sidemarkers in the projectors are hyper white. there isn't any reflector you just gotta change the bulb. and yea you have to remove the rubber and then there is a metal thing you have to take it off of a little tab and then it moves then you just take the bulb out.

Honestly Sean.... Just upgrade to HID's.... HID + Projector= A-****ing-mazing
Also, seriously consider doing the mod to the lights. They were meant for RHD celica's so they need to be modified. Found here Last thing. Go with Sylvania Silverstars for the highs, you will not regret it ![]() They are going to look amazing bro -------------------- ![]() |

HID's while lusted for, are out of the question right now. I just committed to a $3500 bill to get new carpet put in our house so we can sell it easier.
I'm going Silverstar H1 for the lows, Silverstar Ultra 9005's for the highs, and Silverstar H3ST for the fogs. Sadly, I do not have time to do the conversion to the headlamps for now. Once we're set up in Illinois in about three more months, the car will be in the garage and I'll be able to pull everything apart with a little less constriction on time so I can do things right. I would really like to do it this week, but I need the lights to the body shop by the end of the week and I have a final for my Statistics class due tomorrow. Speaking of the conversion, from the pics I've seen, it looks like it would be easy to get in there and put in the plate for the cutoff, but at the same time, grind down the low cutoff on the right side to give it the proper upswing for LHD cars. A dremel with a cutoff tool (not wheel) and a flex extension looks to be all that's needed. -------------------- |

The h1 bulbs that come with the Projectors are a bit yellowish especially the 194 side bulbs.
If possible, get Philips Blue Vision H1 bulbs. They have a blue coating over them but they are pure white when they lit the road. I have them for both the H1 and the sidebulbs in the projectors (installed today). The highbeams are still stock and so are my foglights but will upgrade those to. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

Kadett, I'm half tempted to try to knock out the conversion on the lights this weekend and just tell the body shop to hold off on the car for a couple of days. I'm just EXTREMELY wary about opening up a $500 set of lights. That said, IF I do the conversion, questions: What sealant are you guys using to put the lens back on and ensure an adequate stick/seal?? Kadett, as for the bulbs, where did you get them, and what bulbs are used in the markers in the low beam housing?? I'd leaning towards sticking with one company for all the lights so everything is uniform, that's my biggest reservation right now. -------------------- |

fastbird thats exactly why i didn't do the conversion. I don't wanna screw my headlights up and plus i havn't got in trouble for them yet so i'm not worried about it.

Philips has the Blue Vision series, all of the bulbs needed for our cars. Fogs/Highs/Lows/Side are made for it. Since Philips is a Dutch company its easy to get them here, but they sell products around the Globe so it would't be a problem getting them in the USA I think.
Here is a link to the product webpage. http://www.nam.lighting.philips.com/us/aut.../bluevision.php http://www.lighting.philips.com/nl_nl/cons...ing&lang=nl I used construction kit to seal the light again, dont have any problems with seal. Something that is available at any DYI store. BTW I know its very scary to open 500 dollar sets of lights. I did it with 3 sets now ![]() BTW you dont glue the lens back in, only the front glass ![]() @Lagos: Already told this a few times, just get a universal H4 socket connector. Strip your wires and connect the universal H4 socket on the H1 lights and your done. A 8 dollar and 5 minute job. That's not the issue. I need to know what sealant to use, like a clear or black silicone RTV or something???? You say DIY store, but what kind?? I'm thinking of just using a black high temp RTV for it. Sorry about no pics everyone, had my Business Stats final yesterday and was working on that with a couple friends until about 10PM last night. -------------------- |
