OMG what would I do w/ out my family!

GOOD NEWS

'Amysmojo' will be home some time before the end of the week. A family member heard about the mess I got myself into & has offered to pay for my late car payments + make the July & August payments to give me a head start on getting my bills under controll.....on top of that this same family member said if I get a part time job - then they will match whatever I make each week so that I can get my debt paid off once & for all

I am speechless...this person is my HERO. My whole family knows how much my car means to me...I think they want it to come back home just as much as I do!!

anyway thanks for all your replies everyone - its nice to know im not alone.

you dont have a job at all? why dont you get a full time job, or at least something part time that pays you more money so that you can pay off the debt on your own. its great that your family wants to help you out, but youll never learn your lesson if they pay stuff off for you. rolleyes.gif

lagos - My family is not the type to just pay things off for me. I am not being handed money for no reason. I have a full time job!!! I have had the same full time job for 6 years now. I only started getting into trouble 3 years ago when I decided to move out & live on my own - no room mates no nothing - did that for about a year couldn't afford it so I got a credit card to help me out...I even traded in my 2001 Jetta 2 years ago & got my Celica in order to get a car with lower payments (which are still kinda high but lower than the jetta) & now I am in this never ending cycle of high interest rates from my credit cards bla bla bla & here I am today with my family being there in my time of need.

The part time job is only for paying off my debt! That's why they are going to match what I make @ the part time job - so that I can get out of this situation ASAP. They understand my pain - been there & done that & they want to help me. And I will one day pay them back whether they accept it or not...it will just take time. So I will have both my full time job & a part time job.

So please do not roll your eyes @ me assume I am a spoiled little celica girl - I already feel bad enough & I'm trying to fix things & get my life together.

That is why I've decide to hold off on moving out and go to college. Your not much older than me. But unlike you, I've worked at the same job for atleast 8+ years (probably like 10 frown.gif ). I remember working there when I was in the 7th grade. No I don't get paid all that great. I only make 300 a week (under the table). But unlike you, I would have lost the celica, no one would have helped me out period. I can't even get someone to co sign for me to even get a $2,000 notebook for college. Paying only 50 dollars a month. So you've got more going for you than some do. Oh and my car is a hand me down, my sister bought it, didn't want it anymore, gave to my dad, he got tired of taking me everywhere smile.gif so he gave it to me. Which I had to finish paying for (250 a month). Guess how much I made, 250 a month. -_-

No I'm not rolling my eyes at you, just trying to point out that you've got more going for you than most. Just think, if my wreck would have been totalled out the other week, I would be without a car for more than just 3 days, more like 3 to 4 months. Cause I can't even pull a loan from a bank due to not having any credit. Which is why I got myself a credit card. Plus college should help me in the area aswell smile.gif

enough of my life story smile.gif

Glade ya got it back, I hope to get mine back tomorrow smile.gif

LOL - reading this..... and let me tell you your not alone i did THE EXACT same thing ! Moved out couldn't afford it after a year or so , sold my 2003 GTI golf and bought my old celica to save a bit of cash ! Still having problems , sold the flat and moved home til i payed off my credit card and bank loan.....now 18 months after moving home i'm in a situation where i can afford a place again ! The over-time i did in the last year was horrible but it needed to be done wink.gif

It gets better , just takes time....and hard work biggrin.gif

The golf was crap anyway biggrin.gif

Great to hear that you're getting your finances back together and you got your car back. It's so hard to get back up after being down like that. It just takes time and perseverance. Sounds like you have both going for you.
