Questionnaire- Evolution vs. Intelligent Design, I need your help with Thesis! Options

Hey,

I’m doing research for my thesis, and I was wondering if I could count on some of y’all on this group for help. I’m writing about particular world views from a bit of a psychological perspective. If I could have anyone with a few spare minutes answer some questions then PM me the response, it would be awesome.

I’m not trying to start a debate here, just for the thesis I needed a controversial topic. Please NO DEBATING in this thread. I don’t want it locked. I simple want your answers in private message form. If you have questions/ comments, that’s what the thread is for.

Basic: Comparing the mutually exclusive worldviews of creationism vs. Intelligent design. Evolution says that all life evolved from a single, or a few, life forms, a sort of neo-darwinism. Intelligent design is the view that a creator made life, designed it, and created all life. This might be inclusive of micro evolution, but not macro.

The Questions:

1. Do you believe in Intelligent Design or Evolution? Describe what you believe about it. (Various type of Evolutionism, micro, macro, big bang based, etc.)

2. Why? (Feel free to write as much as possible. Give me the reasons you hold this view.)

3. What people do you know who hold this view? (Family, friends, teachers, pastors, bosses, etc.)

4. What people do you know who hold the opposite view?

5. Do you believe in God (or a higher power of some sort)?

6. If so, how do you describe God (or this higher power)?

7. Do you think your view of a deity influences your stance on the Evolution vs. Intelligent Design discussion? If so, how?

8. Have you ever held the opposite view and had your mind changed? If so, what influenced the change?

9. Did you ever not have an opinion on this? What convinced you of what you accept now?

10. In your opinion, how strong of an adherent to this view are you?

11. Is there anything that could change you mind about this issue? If so, what?

12. What is your level of education (if you went or are going to college, please list major)? What is your current occupation? What is your age? Gender? How would you describe yourself politically? (Conservative, liberal, moderate, etc.)

Answer as much or as little in this as you want. In all honesty, the longer and more in depth answers are going to be more helpful, but whatever you can do would be great. Thanks for any time you spend filling out this questionnaire. Also, if you do submit answers to me, you are giving me the right to use any parts of any of your answers in your thesis. The quoting in the paper will be anonymous (unless you want me to quote with your name, then please include your name.) I'm looking for responses from people from various walks of life/ various views/ various education levels.
