QUOTE(elvasoshexai @ Jul 13, 2006 - 5:21 PM) has anyone tried putting some small 7-8" subs in the rear speaker locations? how did it sound? was there a lot of rattle? did you like the results? yes im glad to say i have placed in 8 inch subs in the rear it was a b!^ch to put in i used the same rule of applying the 8's in the front with minor indications. first i had to take out that black material slash border speaker holder well the speaker too and outline a circle on each panel to where i would fit my subs. second i had to take out the metal frame that holds the speaker out dont worry you can keep it stored away instead of throwing it away. third usind an electrical dremel i cut along the (cirle out line )placed some double sided tape around the rim and place the speaker over. third since it was a pain in the ass i got lazy and didnt customize a frame to secure the speaker on to the black panel i just drilled holes where needed and use a 5/16 screw with a nut on each end to keep in tact. fouth viola your 8 inch sub's are now ready steady just a few minor tips that help me along the way instead of dynomat you can use insulation it works and keeps your car a bit cooler especially if you live in texas also to make your life easier take out the bucket seats lol. love the sound didnt rattle. Keep the magnet secure from clanking against the inner sheet metal wall i used a bit moth balls lol and tape to go over the magnet. |
