 weird thumping noise while breaking |

when i apply steady pressure to the brakes while slowing down.. i hear a thump, thump, thump.. the speed the thumps occurs slows down as my speed slows down (time between thumps increases as the speed decreases).. it sounds like its coming from the front passenger side wheel well area.
the noise happens only when breaking.. sometimes it thumps while making a 3-point turn.. just one thump when the wheel is being turned. -------------------- things happen for a reason.
