I found out my car's engine is going bad. So I'm in the process of saving up for the V6 engine (1mzfe). I'm planning on putting an automatic in. I'd like to know if there is something I can add to stop the engine from losing HP/Torque when it's transferred to the Driveshaft?

Plus would there be any problems with the driving of the car like Torque Steer?

Plus would I get less gas mileage than with a 3sgte swap?

well you can get an auto trans built up with different valve bodies, springs, larger passages and a higher stall tq converter to drive more like a manual, but you'll still loose a little more power than you would through a manual transmission. most upgraded tq converters are more effeicent than stock ones, but im not sure by how much.

this guys site http://shop.rezlo.com/ sells higher stall tq converters, if he doesnt have it in stock i bet he can get it or have it made for you. ive heard nothing but good about the tq converters he sells, alot of turbo'd 3G eclipses are using them with alot of sucess.

the nice thing about having that 1mzfe is that you may still be able to pass emissions legally and you'll have a nice OBD2 PCM to make trouble shooting a little easier, also with its all aluminum block/head i'd bet that it weighs as much or less than the 3sgte, additionally its 200hp right off the bat with no tinkering or turbo lag.

Emission is when they do a yearly check of you car? If so, we don't have that here anymore. Infact they don't even check the cars at all -_-

The Higher Stall Torque Converter would harm the engine, right?

no, the higherstall will not harm the engine. it'll make launching the car alot easier tho.
