well to start off, My names Derren. I live in Lilburn, GA. I'm around beaver ruin road alot.... I've seen maybe only 10 celicas since i had mine. (6gen or older). I need a little more time in navigating around this site. I'm use to the MR2 board, and celicatech.com fourms. I own a 1998 White Totoya Celica GT. Sadly its an automatic. Before i put any "mods" or "cosmetics," i wanted to know the Specs of my car. I tried looking for it, but since i have a 98, i didn't know exactly what i was looking for. And if i did, i'm not sure if is the correct thing. I'm looking for the Engine Number/Engine Code, the chassis number, etc... just the things i NEED to know ...especially if i wanted a manual conversion or GT4 converion. I'm not really starting from scratch, i'm just not use to the format of toyota. (even tho the supra is my dream car.) haha

So can anyone help this noobie out? smile.gif

-> I use to own a silver 1990 Z 5speed non-turbo. ( i love that car.)
Going from FR to FF, i noticed the differences in car control. haha, boy, have i understeered smile.gif

If anyone can help me out, Thank you.

here are some pics

hmm.. I have a 5S-FE

I thought it was only a NA engine....

but here... --> http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=parts&itu=14

It says i can turbo it.

What engines are capable of being turboed?

And in theory, if the 3S-GE is turboed, it becomes the 3S-GTE? or would you need to have the engine swapped?

Thats a no. A 3S-GE is a higher reving different compression ratio engine. Turboing it would give you very minimal results.

What happened to the Z?
And welcome. Please search before you post.

Long Story short, it was a cash car where we pay 3k here and then 90 days... pay 3k there. Well later on when we tried to get the tags for the car, but the dealership had not done the paper work yet.... so we called up there to see what the deal was. We found out our salesman doesn't work there anymore... and some new guy was trying to mess up the deal by saying, "bring in 1000 dollars and we'll work something out" ( TO GET THE FRICKEN TAGS??) and bascially, we said no and they came and took the car the next day. Legally they can't do that. Sadly they didn't know my mom works for lawyers. So we sued them. She's been in law for how many years?? lol The court date came and they didn't show up. SO we won our case by default ( either way even if they were there, we still would have won)...... so we are getting 3k back plus, 2 or 3 months of insurance, and i think court cost.... there was something we weren't award, but oh well... IF we had the choice i would want the Z back... but then again they could have done something to it... so i wouldn't trust it......

so thats the story..

but anyway, thanx for the info!

I have a question, you have a 95 GT, so we have the same car? ST204? but mine is just a newer version?

btw, nice signature smile.gif

ya, we have the same car, pretty much... kinda. Mine is OBD1, yours is OBD2. You have a kick ass steering wheel and the nicer bumper (IMO). I have like... a whopping 4 or 5 more HP from the factory cause im OBD1. And, i have a 2 post wing. biggrin.gif But ya, they are both ST204's.
Sorry to hear about the Z. I was going to buy one (92 non turbo) before the celica. They are nice.
