I've been looking into it. The way I see it, the motor doesn't produce enough to really be a good drag car without it, and it won't with it either. Drag is all I see nitro useful for. I'm sure a 7afe would handle the 50 shot, but I'm not sure how long. Same as it could handle a 100 shot, or as low as 25. The lower the easier on the motor. If you need that extra boost, and you feel you can actually use it in your car, it's one of the best mods you could do for the money. Don't let people tell you it's dangerous, because it's not any more dangerous than any other power adder. Do it right, and it'll be fine. What I am doing is just saving the money it takes for the nitro and putting into suspension and savings. That way I can one day buy a nice motor for the car that is truely worthy of big power boosts. And a $600 NOS system has more than enough envestment to get you on the road to a turbo set up.

oh, i tried it...Remember smile.gif meh it wasn't that bad

I'm pretty sure a 50 shot of nitrous is a usually a 50hp increase. the nitrous is just sprayed in enough volume to produce 50hp. it is most definitely harder on your car if you are using it improperly. here is wikipedia's explanation of how nitrous works to give you an idea Here

I had it in my GT, it was alright but i wasnt thoroughly impressed with it. i got it used so i didnt pay all that much for it...but a new system wouldnt be worth it IMHO. A 7afe wasnt meant for power anyway ( not that the 5sfe was either) it was built for a more economic gas saving vehicle. But on the up side it is nice to say "i have nitrous...you still wanna race?"

The number refers to the number of horsepower it should theoretically add. Hence, a 50 shot should add 50 HP. A 100 shot 100 HP, and so on.

nitrous is safe and wont hurt the motor if you hook it up properly. My buddy Mayo is runnin a 200shot in his 4dr civic and didnt have any problems untill he broke the nozzel and it shot about the equivialant of a 600 shot in. then there was a problem. Ive been finding that more guys are running nitrous in their cars that turbos these days. I had a coutsomer of mine who came in with a 95 Paseo who had a stock motor, CAI, exhaust and was runnin a 100shot on it, no problem. I guess it all depends on what system you are using, if your doing direct port, wet or dry and also the current state of your motor.

and NOS energy drink = awsome

EDIT: Yes, I have a friend named Mayo. Dont ask. Just go on street fire.net and type the word "Mayo" into the search feature in the video sections. and that was his old crappy setup that he poped the motor with. Hes now setup for 500whp in it.

Seen it done on a all motor corolla... pretty funny btw. But it still was pretty damn slow. Its a cheep power adder and it prolly wont break but honestly its a waste of money. If your looking to do anything to make the car faster its still limited by the F head.

i would start with a 25 shot and work your way up from there u will know when it is to much and what your car can handle , remember a 50% hp increase is big number for any engine and from there it will sacrifice reliablity and duralbity if your engine is weak or has any soft spots in it they will show up very quick, why are you asking about nitrous i thought you turboed your car??

Im just lookin over my options, cause the turbo project pretty much fell threw,, my dad and i were going to put it in and started and realized we were in over our heads, so unless i can find someone to help install it, its not going to get put in,, and shops around me are not willing to help out.. so i was thinkin about just puting some nitrous in it, cause theres a shop here that does that.

if you already have the turbo stuff i'd just go that way...
installing it all really isn't too difficult just takes a little time...
ask questions about what you need help with there are plenty here who've done it and can help

I'd say that you'd find good support and very helpful info if you were willing, ready and able to go step by step and ask questions with your turbo project in this forced induction forum.
