Guys, I need help asap. My Celica has had a check engine light for a while now but I will be driving 4 hours for a Celica meet on Friday and need the Celi in tip-top shape. I don't want it to blow up halfway there.
When the key is in the ignition, the check engine light and battery light come on (i have a brand new battery in the car). I diagnosed my check engine light. It blinks twice, then pauses, then blinks once. Here's a video of it: ![]() Can someone please tell me what this means, what code or whatever? Thanks! The friday before last my check engine light came on, took it to the toyota dealership today and it was just the oxygen sensor that plugs into the exhaust pipe before the cat, funny thing is that we already knew the line was broken from it and it showed no check engine light, it took it almost a year to recognize it. Other than that if it runs smooth and cranks its probably just a o2 sensor, but im not sure about where you can get it checked out, unless theres a dealer near you.

This is from the Chilton manual. Trouble code 21: "Oxygen Sensor signal, oxygen sensor signal voltage is reduced to between .35 V and .70 V for 60 sec. under conditions (a)-(d).
a.) Engine coolant temp.: 176 degrees F or more b.) Engine speed: 1,500 rpm or more c.) Load driving (Ex. A/T in overdrive ( 5th forM/T). A/C on, Flat road, 50mph d.) oxygen sensor signal voltage Alternating above and below .45V Not real sure what it means, but that's straight out of the book. |

try reseting the ECU first. Sometimes there will be a "false" reading.

take a look at your o2 sensor and make sure its pluged in and the wiringd dosnt look damaged. then reset the ecu and see if the code comes back. if it does, replace the o2 sensor.

to reset the ecu, you just disconnect the battery for 30sec or so. you can also just pull out your efi fuse and do it that way, if you dont feel like having to reprogram your clock and stuff.
