I haven't been here on the forums because I bought a new solstice. So i'm on the solstice forum and those guys there are a bunch of old bags. They tried to jump me over debadging my car. They get excited over a cupholder. I'm told the stock sound system is is good enough. Sorry, but my celica(alpine) system smokes it. I'm going to have to wait for another year till the tuner market really gets them instead of the boring manufacturers that make parts. Good news is the aftermarket turbo kits are pretty good of the n/a models.
What bunch of dicks. i think I'm leaving the forums and just doing my thing.

Thats how older guys are! My dad is like that - just keep it stock why do anything to the audio - it does what it needs to. lol! It just happens with age! :-P

my dad likes the audio stuff in my car (also alpine) hes 52 (i think) he likes it because hes partcially deaf (one ear only hears) so when the sub hits hard/at all, he can hear that. Normally he cant hear the lower tones.

(so theres a good reason for buicks to have subwoofers...for the hard of hearing seniors)

u know, it wont be long before the solstice catches on. i was reading about it on some import tuner magazine, its pretty interesting seems like a decent car....althougth i dont like the corporate whoring of the import scene nowadays (red bull sponsors the drifting solstice)

i wouldnt buy one, i refuse to buy american cars, they tend to devolve into pos.

My dad is 61 and seems to like my sound system now he wouldn't like how much I spent on it. Yesterday, I had a chat with my cousin, she's in her mid to high 30s, and she loved my sound system. She was saying that she hates the cars that have those Subs in the back, but likes mine cause it sounds really good and doesn't vibrate the whole car. We only got on the subject because she was saying how hot my car was and saying that it must be a girl magnetic. So I told her what I've done so far to it. So she wanted to hear the system.

Mine does vibrate the car, but at the volume I play it at, it isn't noticeable. Besides, I choose not to play it too loud. I choose to prevent going deaf .. . . for now

What a pile of bull. I am 30 and i have a curren and a bit ricy GT4. But my father who is 58 is one of the biggest ricers I know. He has two much time on his hands and is always trying to to stuff to just about anything he gets his hands on. I had a green canvas Montero jeep and he put a black top, blacked out the glasses, put 6 more speakers in the back, black lines on the sides of the car, extra lights , 3 additional horns, the horn of a theft security system, wider rims and wheels, plastic widening fender kits for the wider wheels, a huge untenna in the back (like the ones the put on off road buggies with flags) two tone plastic leather seeats, extra cup holders and the list goes on and on. Heck when he washes the car he paints the rubber on the wheels with shoe polish.

Hann makes a great turbocharger kit for the car already. As far as the forum, im going to continue pissing them off. I still have the celica so I'm not going anywhere unless I part it.

madmods thats a cool little car but i read somewhere that the solstice is all hype....i dont really beleive what magazines say and ive yet to drive one...im sure theyre a blast....

cant wait to see what a boosted one does....good luck with your modding...we all move on sooner or later

You know there's something to be said for keeping sound stock. Stock systems can get plenty loud and have respectable quality. Do I really need to hear your bass coming from three miles away? I mean if that's your hobby, great, but just know a lot of people are laughing at you when we hear the "bzzzt... Bzzzt.... BZZZZT.... coming towards us and then hear "and I get more ass than a toilet seat" as Eminem belts out your open window. In my opinion, it's no better than a fart cannon, but like I said, I can understand why people get into it.

Motortrend gave the fight to the MX-5 when they did their match several months ago. They're notorious for kissing GM's ass, too.

I believe the new MX-5 is a step backwards, though; they really ruined a good suspension.

have you ever been in a miata? they have the worst bodyroll out of any "sportscar" ive ever seen the new one looked to be improved in that aspect in the best motoring video.... they stick like crazy but i cant get over how much travel the suspension has and how much they sway.
