i've been searching for connectors for my jdm accent light sockets but unfortunately they cannot be ordered separately, you'd need to get either the whole harness or find them in overseas wrecking yards.

some pics stolen from malpaso.... biggrin.gif

and so i've been toying around and it seems that the usdm parking light socket fits the low beam hole for the accent light perfectly. yes! so all i needed are a pair of connectors. which btw finally came in today.

however, the two sockets are different. below, the jdm accent light socket is longer than the usdm parking light socket but fits in the low beam housing perfectly. the length wouldn't really matter since the light will be reflected from the reflectors in the headlamps anyway..

so now i've got them test wired to a 12V power supply to see how they look:

this is how it looks with the accent lights

this is a comparison pic with the low beams on to show the difference in brightness:

now i've been messing with how it looks through different charges: the 1st at 6A and the 2nd at 10A

and personally i think it looks better at a lower charge..

this is sweet, now i have 5 different head light modes. accent lights, low beams, hi beam daytime running lights (low intensity), hi beams only (high intensity), and hi and low beams simultaneously.

but now before i begin, i'm trying to decide how i should wire them.. pls reply with your choice and why:

a) to the door ajar lights (turns on when any door opens)
b) make a switch to maually turn them off and on
c) to the parking lights (not a good choice since they'll barely even be used)
d) to an aftermarket alarm but change/paint the bulbs to something darker
e) or let me know some of your other ideas...

new update:

i went ahead and went with option a)
i wired them up to the driver side door light. so now the lights goes on when any door opens up and turns off when all doors are closed.
all i want to do now is replace the bulbs with blue ones.

azian, why not pick the parking lights since theyd be always on when you drive at night? your door barely opens unless you get in or out or leave the door open all the time. Just a suggestion.
