So, last weekend, my dad drove down here (about 4 hours away from home) to tow my car back home.
IPB Image I started having quite a few problems since my trip to ottawa about a month ago. When we were driving to ottawa, we were driving behind a big dump truck and BAM! This really really loud bang happened, scared the living sh*t out of me. The whole car shook, and one of my vent peices on the dash poped out. I didnt think too much of it, but i still stopped and pulled over to the side. Poped the hood, nothing wrong there, checked the front and back end for dmg, nothing there. So i figured the dump truck probably poped a tire and just the force of the sound causes all the comotion. Any ways, we continued on, every thign was good, every thing went fine for about 2 weeks or so. So i moved down here to windsor and my e-brake was acting up..i would pull it up, relase it and it would still grab. Also my sway bar end links were clunking like nothin else. So i didnt think much of it again, but i started gettin a nice rattel when i down shifted and i thought it was somethin in my head. Any ways, i got my dad to tow it home and let him know about the e-brake problems. So, he decided to do some ditective work and take a look see. So he found out that all of my e-brake brackets are rotten, my cabel is snapped in a few places, and also the hard casing on it is kinked in a few places. So he decided to fallow the cabels all the way to the front and make sure theres no other problems. So he found that my exhaust pipe where it comes over towards the rear end is tacoed(nice kink), one of the brackets thats tack welded to the body is are broken off and apparently there is a hole about the size of my dad's fist in the floor boards close to my gas tank. So yea, he fixed all the hand brake stuff as much as he can, fixed the sway bar end links, found out that the rattel in my exhaust system is not my head, but is my cat's internals and the heat sheild above it. So that big bang i had behind the dump truck, wasnt a tire being blown out, it was apparently a big ass rock that managed to do all that damage. So yea, im about $600 out in parts and labour this far, and i still need to get a new floor pan. So yea, if you happen to have a spare parts car and wanna gimme a hand, check out the FS section.
