It's not for my coolent gauge because that still works and this sensor is not hooked up. Is it the coolent temp sensor for the ecu? I thought the one on the front was the ecu coolent sensor, my coolent gauge is pluged into one in the back next to the one that I boxed in red.

I have a 90-91 JDM 2nd gen 3sgte, I can't remember what year exaclty. I've looked at that picture before trying to figure out what it is, I have the green coolant temp sensor in the front and the grey coolent temp sensor(gauge) in the back too. I also have the sensor in the pic I posted with a broken connection to the sensor that I don't know what it is.

i think what you did is plug your coolant temp gauge into your cold start time injector switch or your coolant temp ecu sensor..

im pretty sure those 3 sensors are pretty much all just temperature probes anyway, this is why your coolant temp gauge still works.

this is just a theory though, im not 100%.

you know, ive never been shure what that one is for. i know its not the coolant temp for the gauge, the ecu, or the cold start switch. i kind of remember reading somewhere in the diagrams that the AC system might need a temp probe, so that might be it....but thats just a WILD guess.

im pretty sure i only have 3 harness plugs on my neck, and that noegruts pic only shows 3 too.. maybe theres a difference somewhere?

looking at the noegruts pic and your pic it does look like 2 different coolant necks..

Those 3 plugs are all different plugs and can not plug into the wrong sensors. Maybe I'll try and find a part number on it.
