Dying Tranny?, Strange RPMs Options

Okay, i'll be at a stop light right? and not thinking about anythign and accelerate at a normal everyday rate... something very normal. So when I go to let up of the gas a little as if I was approaching my designated speed, the transmission takes a moment to shift. As if I'd have to let up on the gas for a second and then push back down just so it will just shift. Also does this when I accelerate really fast. I know the tranny has 131,000 on it. In fact just hit that mark the other day. The transmission fluid was drained when the old owner put the new engine in, which only has about 60,000 on it. I hope its not the tranny as I cant afford a $2000 repair right now. I know if it was something simple my father and I have taken the transmission out before to replace a gasket in my 95 aerostar, and that transmission weighs like 200 lbs... I was just hoping somebody could enlighten me on what else could be wrong, and if this is really the problem perhaps a suggestion on where to get a used or new transmission. I'd like to go to manual. OH and btw its an automatic.
