 Sunroof, clicking? |

i was parking my car today, and put my tilt up so air can get in, i do this often, but this time it made a clicking noise when it reached its peak (if i hold the button it clicks), its never done so before, and im not sure what it is, im gunna try to fix it tommorow, but was wondering if anyone else had this problem before, or have any suggestions for it?

forget the sunroof. do a targa top conversion.

I have this same problem, though for me, it looks like a piece of the track is missing on one side, or like a piece broke. It doesn't just click, it gives a few clicks and then stops moving, and occasionally it gets stuck...I'm taking it to some electronics guys because I've played with everything I can think of. Hope your clicking doesn't turn into my problem...

if it's starting to click it means your middle gear in the sunroof motor is about to strip out......same thing happened to me then a few weeks later my roof got stuck
the sunroof motor has 3 gears and the outside ones are metal and the middle one is plastic, that is the one where the teeth will get stripped out, start looking for a new sunroof motor and try to clean any debree from sunroof --------------------  |

Im in the process of replaceing mine right now. And thats how it all started. They are about 340 new is the cheapest you can find them. Lucky some dude was parting his celica, so i picked one up for 80. And no, you cant just replace the middle plastic gear. : ( -------------------- Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. i know i even back hten talked to a freind who worked in a metal fabrication shop and it was cheaper to just get a new motor like i did
