Cool bit I must say but EEK! 22,000 pounds in 1990 for that celica? In today's exchange rate that GT-4 is 41,000 USD!

--------------------
Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driver
Car #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03

so after thinking that in todays exchange rate the $41,000 GT-4 was a calculation error, I dug about for a bit to see what that cars cost in pounds would equate to in similar purchasing power for the current pound rate today, and then convert that pound value into dollars in todays market, and was dumbfounded to see that the GT-4's pound cost then, translated into todays value here in the US as $62,982!!! No suprise as to see why cars like this died off.... frown.gif

you are 100% correct, but dosent it just go to show that it was NOT cost effective to build japanese vehicles in japan for export markets at the time?... that bubble economy did wonders at home while it lasted, but it really took a toll on the export market's ability to be consistantly bennificial on the upper end of the market...

yeah i know about both of them. but isint 5th gear a newer spin off show from top gear? i think Tiff was originally on top gear before 5th gear came out. thats what made me think this was top gear.

5gear and Top gear there running both at one time before BBC ended the Top gear translations...

These are 2 different shows.

But yes the Tiff was on Top gear i think before Clarcson showed up.

5th Gear was a spin-off, tiff, quientin wilson (Spelling!!) and some others went off and made 5th gear on another channel, clarkson continued with top gear. They are both still running.

By the way, that mr2 vid was on top gear, 5th gear only started recently (2/3 years I think)
