Curious to know will the 4AGE Directly drop into the AT200? When I say directly drop in, i mean can I drop it in with ( taken from a site) "In general, the engine comes with an intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel injection, alternator, distributor, usually partial wire harnesses that are cut near the engine, oil pan, valve cover, pulleys, etc. We do not guarantee that the accessories will be included or that they work properly. Axles, motor mounts and shift linkage do not come with the engine."

And have no serious complications such as different transmission, mounts, etc. Yes I noticed it says wiring harness is cut.

EDIT: I read the FAQ, but It didn't say if you need the clip or not. Hench Im still asking if major complications arise.

In Theory the 4A-GE will drop into your existing Motor mounts and bolt up to your tranny, because the ST holds another "A" series engine. You *might* have to have an exhaust manifold made, but for some reason I believe I read somewhere that someone has the stock one on their swap. The only thing that would need to be done is the wiring.

Again this is said "In Theory"

Like 95CelicaSt said, since the engine is an A-series engine it should bolt up directly into the engine using the same mounts used for the 7afe. The exhaust manifold may or may not come with a downpipe. If it doesn't, have an exhaust shop fabricate the 4age manifold(possibly weld on another flange to the downpipe or replace flange on exhaust manifold) so it connects to the factory downpipe that was used for the 7afe engine. As far as wiring is concerned, try to get a complete uncut harness because you will more than likely need most of the connectors for the 4age. I recommend contacting Dr. Tweak on making your wire harness if you feel sketchy about doing the wire harness yourself. He gives a reasonable price for his wire harness conversion and will be tons of help if you run into any problems with your swap. Okay, now take into consideration on what type of 4age you are getting. If you get a 16v 4age, you will have a way easier time to get parts just in case something breaks. If you get a 20v, be prepared to pay alot more for replacement parts and having some trouble getting the parts you need(you will need to find resources!)

Pretty much what I've been telling you for the last year jeff LOL. I've owned a 4A before and it was alot more fun. I still think manual swap should be the first major mod you do.

So "thoeretically" you take out the 7afe, drop in the 16v 4age with a completely new harness and maybe some fab work to the manifold and ur set? cwm13.gif if so I know what i'm going to do in the spring biggrin.gif

Nah that's just half of it. frown.gif Aside of putting in the engine and doing the wire harness conversion, you will also need to redo a few other things using both parts from the 7afe and 4age. One of them is the power steering pump. What's need to be done is that since the 4age uses an external p/s reservoir, you will need to get one from either a 6th gen celica GT or any other vehicle that uses an external reservoir(problem with this is that you might need to fab the mounting bracket and find a good place on the strut tower to mount the reservoir). You will also need to make custom p/s lines from the p/s pump to the reservoir, and from the reservoir to the rack and pinion. 2nd, would be your a/c if you plan on keeping it. You will need to have an autoparts store or an a/c specialist to fab. the a/c lines so it can be used on the 16v'sor 20v's a/c compressor (So that would mean using the fittings that go to the 16v a/c compressor and getting fitted on to the celica a/c lines. MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT FITTING GOES ON WHICH LINE!! I learned the hard way (Several leaks leading to a $1500+ a/c fix mad.gif ) Oh, and make sure to keep the a/c idle up vsv that is on the celica, you will need to wire that up to the ECU so the car doesn't die out with the a/c on. Other essential parts you need is an AFM, ECU, ignition coil, and ignitor to get the car running(If the engine doesn't come with these). Almost forgot, make sure to get a vac. diagram for the engine.

Yes, to tweak you listen. =>insert best Yoda voice<= This is what we were talking about in the car the other day Jeff, buy an engine, ECU and wiring harness at minimum and send off the wiring harness to Dr.Tweak. I don't wanna fight an install while trying to diagnose problems that may or may not be wiring harness related. I've never heard one single complaint about the good DR.'s work from here or MR2 oc. Be alot easier work if we could just trust the wires and only have mechanical difficulties to deal with. Although with the a/c and power steering issues that I was unaware of it's starting to sound like a 3s-gte swap would be just as expensive/difficult. I don't fear the mounts. I have already done this once with the MR2 tranny and since you need to lose the auto tranny anyway...
Well you get the idea. This is all assuming you think you are ready for the headache of upkeep on a Turbo car. Your Car - your choice. To boost or not to boost...
