Well, thanks to or genius president, we're probably gonna be sending another 15,000-20,000 more troops over to Iraq and I think this is the biggest mistake we could make. I realize that pulling our troops now would be disastrous, but should never have even been put into this situation if it wasnt for our moronic "leader." Wednesday nite, Bush made a public speech or something, which basically states that he was wrong (although he never admits it directly). On Thursday, Senator Chuck Hagel got into it with Condoleeza Rice and said: "I think this speech given last nite by this president represents the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam, if it's carried out." and i totally agree w/ him. Bush has put us in a no win situation. No matter what we do, i don't think we can repair the damages thats already been created. If we pull the troops we lose. if we send more troops we lose. British are smart not to go along with this plan and have alrady told the U.S. that they dont wanna put more troops over there.

Good job mr. president. Way to make this world a living hell.

p.s. i dont even wanna get into the fact that he actually wants to invade Iran and Syria. thats a whole another story that i just dont even want to think about.

The sad thing is that everyone knew they shouldnt have went there in the first place...remember at the time, the reason for invasion was they have weapons of mass desctruction?? Its been a while since I’ve heard that name in the news (related to iraq)... The UN inspectors said there was no weapons jsut prior to the attack.

It was never about nuclear weapons. That was just an excuse for Bush to get troops over there. It was all about finishing what his daddy couldnt finish regardless of the consequences. Granted there are troops still in Afghanistan, it seems to me that, the responsibility there has taken a backseat to the situation in Iraq now. Saddam was never a huge threat to us and has been proven that he had no ties to Al Queda and Bin Laden. Bush is just backpedaling now.

Hell yeah I believe it's B***S***!! mad.gif Think about it, how the heck are you going to end terrorism if terrorism exist everywhere in this world? From the time they Hanged Saddam Hussein, I am left to believe that Iraq is going to get even worse because of all the Saddam Loyalist that exist in Iraq. And because of it, it might lead to bigger problems for the U.S. to be concerned about later on. I've been deployed for 18 months (1 complete year in Iraq and 6 months in training) serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom III and from the looks of what I experienced is that Iraq is far from becoming a country that can support itself since the invasion of Iraq. The country's people still have doubts in trusting US and allied nations.

i think its BS that we're over there... frown.gif

I also heard on the news tonight if I heard correctly that sending more troops over there wont even make things easier over there untill like like summer time or fall.

*sigh* I have friends who are most likely gonna be sent there frown.gif

Is this thread leading up to something? You have been here long
enough to know this kind of stuff always gets deleted. So what is
the point? A thread on a car website will finally achieve world peace?
Not likely.
Sorry, but bitching about the situation isn't helping anything.

Be glad you have a choice, in many countries military service is
manditory.

Yeah, personally I had a choice. I got in to continue college to get a degree, and dang recruiter told me that it is not likely that I would get deployed since I was in the Army National Guard. Then next thing you know orders come up from the Brigade CO. of our unit getting activated. SHEESH!!

yea like any of the threads in the off topic section have a purpose.
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=44556 ooh fantastic. is this thread leading to anything?
rolleyes.gif

i never said that bitching about it would help any situation. i just posted to get somethin off my mind. isnt that the purpose of forums? god forbid i post 2 or 3 times a month.

threads like this wouldnt get locked up if there werent any arguments and petty fighting going on.

and playr. i dont care about warfare as long as theres a reason for fighting but whats the purpose in Iraq? People are dying for no reason what so ever. goin to afghanistan is something worth fighting for, but Iraq?

not all people are like that... yeah they stepped up and joined, but its not always just to be in warfare and fight...

My best friend, she joined just for college money, cuz she couldnt afford to do it on her own... she told me that she wouldnt even be in the military if it werent for the college being mostly paid for... but she says she;'s enjoying the experiences of military life by meeting new people and accomplishing things she thought she could never do...

everyone has theyre reasons... my boyfriend joined just because he felt it was the right thing to do...

Granted theyre still gonna get deployed at some point or another...

But sheesh whats really scary is that my best friend and my boyfriend told me that they heard that theyre deploying people right out of basic training... Like they dont even get to further theyre training to learn more about fighting/or theyre specific job that they have in the military. Like thats how friggen desperate they are for people supposidly... I dunno thats what they told me... but to me thats just f'ed up...

well a few people i know have been to various places and some more are going to places, there's a shortage of troops at the moment even here in Aus, considering we have a total of about 60,000 personnels in our entire defence force. People hav a choice in joining up, but let me just say that these guys are doing something most people don't dare do, politicians can be replaced, not lives, sorry i went off track but yeah, that's wat i think of this situation, it's cause of politicians that we're in this mess.....
