QUOTE(presure2 @ Apr 3, 2007 - 3:19 PM) GREAT work chris. looks like your really gaining some valuble experience with this project!! Thanks Manny...I am indeed learning a lot while I go along. ![]() Right now I'm wiring up the fusebox harness and I've got a couple quick questions. 1. Just to confirm, ELS pins on the ECU raise the idle when you give them +12 volts, right? So when my fans come on, I'd give +12 volts to the ELS1 - Electric Cooling Fan Relay, correct? 2. What is the CF - Cooling Fan Relay pin on a Toyota ECU do? Is it an input or output? What signal does it give/need? And how is it different from the ELS1 - Electric Cooling Fan Relay pin? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I'd have to check my diagrams at home but I'm pretty sure both of those pins are inputs. This is just off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure ELS get's +12v when the defroster or brakes are applied and CF gets +12v when the fans are on.
Don't take my word for it though because this is all just from memory. I haven't actually looked at the diagrams in a few months. If someone else doesn't get to it before me I'll check again when I get home. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

There are actually four ELS pins on the AE111 ECU for various things (fans, tail-lights, blower, and defogger.) I'll be looking forward to your reply. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Turns out that I don't have schematics for the AE111. All I have is the ECU Pinout which is probably the same thing you have.
I did find that our ECU can use one common ELS pin because we have a set of diodes in the left kick panel that prevent the activation of the brakes to cause the defroster to come on or vice versa. I assume that set of diodes doesn't exist in the AE111 and that is why the ECU must have four separate inputs... I'd even venture to say that if you opened the AE111 ECU that you'd have a diode right after each pin that would all lead to a common trace on the PCB. This leads me to believe that if you just connect the ELS pin from I11 of your celica's interior harness to any of the 4 ELS inputs on the ECU you'd be accomplishing the same thing as separating out the circuits to go to the ECU. I hope all that made sense. If not let me know and I'll try and decipher it a little better. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Only the brakes and defroster go to the ELS pin though. There's no fan input to the ECU, on the AT200 anyway. It looks like the ST204 has a CF pin on the ECU...I'll work through the cooling fan diagram once my head stops pounding. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

You gonna use the stock stacks Chris? I'm running a set of 4inch stacks and am quite happy with the overall performance.

You gonna use the stock stacks Chris? I'm running a set of 4inch stacks and am quite happy with the overall performance. I'm not sure yet. Was planning on it for a while, but I may try longer stacks (4" or 6") once I have money. Tonight I made some progress...stuff tends to take me so long to do. But oh well, at least it'll be done right. ![]() ![]() There's where I'm at with the fusebox wiring. I ran out of tape so I had to stop early. Also, I need more four-gauge wire and four-gauge wire ends so that I can finish up the battery wiring. ![]() ![]() There's the fusebox mounted. I'm going to seal off the holes with silicone so water cannot enter the fusebox. You can also see the four relays. Three are for the fans and one is for the horns. And that's just one of several sirens, so revealing the location of one shouldn't matter. Throughout the project I've also been working on plenty of security features, but those of course cannot be shared. ![]() -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

If you do this, I highly suggest that do something to protect it. My buddy shredded his harness apart from having it to close to the wheel...of course it didn't help that his car was literally an inch of the ground, but if you already thought of this chris, then just ignore my post ![]() -Jack -------------------- ![]() Now SR powered |

![]() QUOTE quick question: isn't it hard to access the fuse box once the fender is on? I would recomend a extra sheet metal cage around the entire fuse box to prevent tempering from the outside of your car. It won't be too hard to access...it will be accessible from the bottom of the car without removing the fender or front bumper. And I've thought about building a sheet metal cage around it (at least on the bottom) that bolts into place...I probably will as I've got some extra steel sheets lying around. My extra wiring even runs through the factory clips. It will be fine, especially since my wiring is taped, then loomed, then taped again. ![]() Tonight I'm hoping to get the fusebox harness done and wire up the battery and circuit breaker wiring. I may begin putting the interior back together and install the rear AGX strut assemblies as well. looking good, coomer.
i thought you already had your battery wired to the trunk, though? do you have both the leads run to use the original ground, or did you gound in the trunk? -------------------- ![]() do you know who i am, mr. worley? |

At one point it was in the trunk. Then I put it back in the engine bay, and now it's going to be in the front passenger fender area where the washer fluid reservoir and pump used to be. I'm just not sure where I want to mount my remote terminals yet. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Tonight I got the fusebox harness mostly completed. It just needs to be loomed up and ran to the correct location.
![]() ![]() There you can see the wiring harness running up and over the wheel. Don't mind those two hacked up AE101 harnesses in the foreground. ![]() There you can see how the wiring is ran into the car. Just like the factory airbag wiring. ![]() ![]() And there is the end of the fusebox harness. ![]() And finally, there are some of my parts that I received today. Anyway, I'm tired and about to pass out, so that's it for tonight. Tomorrow hopefully I can get a lot done. ![]() -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

its going to be tricky mounting the battery in the fender. you would have to use some pretty thick steel so that the battery wont fly out of your car if you hit a big pot hole or something.
