And you guys are how old? I've been racing cars since the early nineties [teenage years] and I run a club with 300+ Toyotas including MR2's, Supras and Celica's of all gens - all drive types. I have gotten to beat on at least one of each and Furthermore I have owned 2 RWD Celicas incuding MKII Celica/Supra. In the end AWD owns all for handling and power transmission to the ground with stability. Have you ever driven a MKII MR2 T? I doubt most of you have. If you had - you would know what I'm talking about.
I also have driven many american muscle cars with tons of HP - same result. AWD owns all.
Speak up when you know what you are talking about.
BTW - Nice mods ya'll. I think I see a short ram intake and some rims between the 4 of you. Try modding a car before you speak up.

MR2s oversteer like a mofo because they are MR cars..lol..any MR car oversteers. And you cant compair a MKII celica or a MKIII celica to a supra. The suspension design and geometry is completely different. Also, dont get all cocky about being older than some of us and the fact that we dont have tons of mods under our hoods. So what about age? there are drivers who are out there as young as 15 that can drive better than some of the older drivers. Look at drifters, 95% of the drifters who are out there are in their mid 20s and have more driver skill than guys in their 50s who have been runnin 1/4 mile all their life. Dont judge us because of our age when you dont know any thing about us. Also, most of us are younger than u and are still in school. When you were 20 did you have a car? did you have tons of mods done to it? did you have that extra $ to be dumping into it. Yes AWD is a better system for driving in certain conditions, but not every one likes AWD. There are cars out there that are RWD only that can do laps faster than AWD cars. Same with FWD. And stop with the "try modding a car before you speak up" crap. Some of us might not have modded our own cars, but we have modded others.

that article is actually wrong...

that supra makes 1000whp inorder to achieve the owners maximum speed goal of 248 or 249mph....

which was specifically designed and built to out do his previous skyline project

and RWD only oversteers if you didn't setup your suspension right......

that HP sound a bit more relasitic. 800 seemed a little low.
And true about RWD and suspension.

The ulimate Supra would have to be put on a serious diet and be powered by an aluminum block 3sgte or 5sgte. It's just mostly way to big. I don't understand why people glorify these cars.

Top Secret's already tossed in a 3SGTE into a MK4 Supra. Makes the engine bay look very empty. lol

First off - nobody was talking to or about you. Second they jumped my $hit for my opinion first - I just told them like it is IMO. And If I'm so wrong - how come I've gotten 4 different PM's since then from people who agreed with what I said - people who have been on here for a long while and have actually accomplished something with their cars.
My MKIII Celica was a Supra. Celica-Supra - I know not the same as what we were talking about but still FR.
Yes - When I was 20 I was on my second Celica [still had my 1st] and it was what I worked on to restore. Not much modding back then for Toyota's. Also I was also in college and had a wife and a kid.
Maybe you have modded other peoples cars - But I wasn't talking to you - I was talking to the people who jumped my opinion.

I usually stay out of High School BS like this, but negative didn't start this....
He stated his opinion about an AWD car vs RWD and got flamed for it. Since when is an opinion wrong?
Ive gotten the same **** off site from people who spout off like they know a thing or 2, when all they are doing is quoting someone elses opinions.
I'd have been pretty pissed too if I were him, and while It might have been immature, I can not say I wouldn't havegone off the same way he did.

I like a nice FWD car for lower hp racing. FWD transfers the power to the ground really well, and it's easy to control and predict. My first car was a FWD, and that's what I spent a lot of time getting used to. Before that, it was mostly motorcycles with a few go-karts. I've driven my fair share of RWD, and it's fun and all, but in lower hp applications you can't beat the FWD. I haven't driven enough AWD cars and pushed them to tell anyone how they compare. On the older muscle cars, they oversteer bad because the suspension sucks on most of them. It's not really a big concern of a lot of muscle car guys to have thier car hugging corners. Newer RWD is better when put with a new independent rear end, especially when mated to a LSD. LSD's just seem to be more common on RWD cars though, so I'm not sure if that can really be argued as part of it. I'll stick with my FWD until I feel the need to have more than 250-300hp. It's a lot driving style too. My dad grew up on RWD, and he can't make a FWD car go fast at al because he just can't predict it. If you know how to drive a good FWD, it's an excellent race car.
