I agree with you there. People can say other words instead of the words they choose when they curse, but the bottom line is, you are doing what you are doing. If I smashed my finger and said "Sugar coated butterflies" I am still swearing. So what is the difference? I never understood that. Besides, you said God. God isn't his name (if she was that religious, she would know what God's True name is.... Like it is hard to find out or anything. It's in the friggin Bible).

what is god's true name anyways??? Just outa curiosity... tongue.gif

LOL I thought it was Yahweh or Yahueh, whichever you want to pronounce. Spell check says ditch the second, but either one is fine.

well there's a lot of dirrerent names and terms people use. Alot of them depend on what religion you are, i'm pretty sure Yahweh is what the Muslim(?) religion uses. I just remember learning about a few different religions and thier names for god in HS like 3 years ago, so I could be wrong..lol

What kind of school is this? Religion should be left at the door. Infringes on your freedom of speech. They're also assuming your talking about their god, whose to say their god is THE god?

Actually it is the Hebrew name. Muslims are like saying "Alah" right?

I learned about a couple religions in high school too... It was in history class, and it was about religions in different cultures and some history on a few well known religions... It was none of this "This is my god so he will be your god too" scenarios... Its "church" thats not allowed in schools systems, unless your in one of those religious schools I assume...

Thats stupid up that she would do that, im a christian yet I dont force my beliefs onto people, so what makes her so special. kindasad.gif Anywayz just keep doing it to piss her off and hopefully she'll drop out cause of it. laugh.gif

But anyways to the people who were wondering what gods name is I'm pretty sure to Jews its Yahweh, to muslims its Allah or whatev, and to christians its Jehovah. Kinda weird they have different names even though there all the same god.

Honestly.... I doubt that she even believes the BS that she is spitting out... Why else would she make it a point to go so overboard about things like swearing??

Tell her that her Jesus shirts offend you, and you would appreciate it if she respects your beliefs....

It has to go both ways....

I remember back in HS, they had christian clubs on campus and people wore their crosses and jesus shirts... but I got in trouble for wearing a cradle of filth t-shirt becasue i offended the christians.... This is all BS... the only ones offended were the ones trying to prove themselves to the REAL christians.. who really didnt give a **** what I wore.....

I think of religion like any other club.... The real believers are pretty secure in what they believe and dont have to go bother anyone else with it... The noobs have to throw it in your face, just so your aware that they belong too..... pretty pathetic....

I'm of the opinion that manners and morality have to be collapsible into one another and that one general rule can work in multiple situations depending on situational qualities soo if your at work lets say and a coworker corrects you on a seemingly minuscule error of etiquette what is the best course of action? lash out at the pretentious coworker for correcting you, or simply forgetting it and moving on minding not to repeat the situation...whats funny is where that comes from laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

well I use the term "church" to basically preaching as a pastor would with theyre sermons... Thats what you dont see in schools... But TEACHING I think when it comes to religion is completely different from preaching. Your learning about the religion but you obviously arent practicing it by any means... or being forced to for that matter.

Thats why I dont see it as big of a deal in schools because your just going over lil general stuff about multiple religions. Your not even really going into deep deep detail about them either. Teachers arent throwing religion in your face like youd see at church... at least lets hope not anyways... I personally think church should stay as far away from schools as for lessons go.

Some of you guys forget what this country was founded upon. Sure it doesn't last today, but there was a time when the world seemed right, that people actually had morals. Wether you believe or not doesn't matter. Some of you out there have this liberal mentality that says "Do what you want, so long as it isn't hurting anyone else". But what about those who care for you? Those who want you to be doing good. Who can argue that what is in the Bible is not morally beneficial to us all as a thriving society? If you want to get into philosophy..... Please save it. Everyone has a philosophy, although I have seen people get so wrapped up in it..... They reminded me of a child who never settled for an answer, but just keep asking why as if only to be annoying. People do have a choice, although, when was the last time you loved something so much, that to see others go against it, it broke your heart? When was the last time you found something worth living for, and devoted your life souly to it, no matter how hard it was? If you hadn't noticed, I was speaking in past tense, because this is not a short term goal for these religious people. Yes, they are no different from you and I, although both sides should be respected. Just keep in mind, that not everyone can be satisfied, and all sides have to sacrifice a little, to comprise and co-exist. The world is governed by Balance. People need to understand that. There is no tipping of the scales here. We can't all plant trees, and make the world a better place. Some things have to just be. Therefore the source of true happiness is being Content. And I just rambled on a grip. Sorry guys. I am going to go back to my car now............ I feel strange now..........

well u say we forgot what the US was founded on, well its was founded on lies. plain and simple, George Washington owened salves, we took land from whoever we wanted, and made laws to suit men, not people. If u think about why did people even come to America? 2 be free and 2 be able to priase whatever that want. We are free, so we can choose to have no morals if we want. I could walk into a church and curse up a strom, and guess what, i have the right to be there as the pastor. Morals are relative, freedom is a responsibility. its man greatest gift and plight, to be born free in the USA.

Yeah, maybe I should have not said what this country was founded on. But Laws were based off the commandments. (According to the Bible) the people were given Kings to govern over them, as they wanted. That is when law came into effect. It works right? The fact is..... There is no freedom. Yeah, America was made by lies. English came to American, fed up with paying taxes and their laws..... OMG! What has changed? Not a damn thing. I doubt someone would let another curse up a storm in a church though. I can almost bet someone might take some "Sin" to that "Chin". LOL That's what my friend says. Nothing unholy about knocking someone out. Anyhow, I am out this discussion. I talked about religion once in this other site..... oh man. It got ugly and I just left. I hope to stick around and make friends out of all of ya..... Regardless of what you believe. Let's keep it that way.

Well the plain and simple fact of the matter is that some people are retards, and will act accordingly.

No matter how much of a cry she has, she can't get you kicked out anyway as that would be just a tad illegal rolleyes.gif

Its a college. nothing like a catholic school or any thing. its a public college..we have people of like every race and religon there too, but yet somehow christianity is somethin that sticks out alot. Even weirder is that 1/3rd of the city i live in are arabic and most people are muslem.

And NO!!!! shes not hot, so dont ask. Shes like 4'11, 80lbs, and her eyes are sunk back into her head. It looks like some one punched her in the eye and colapsed her skull. Its pretty gross looking. But NO SHE ISNT HOT IN THE SLIGHTEST.

Apparently she is in that one form of chrisitani where the people think they can speak in tounges and think that because a preist or what ever hits them on the head and says "THE POWER OF GOD!" they are cured of every thing. Like thouse adds you see on tv at 1 in the mornin where people send $25 for a "prayer cloth"...she apparently bought one. But yea, people who go to these kinds of churches are very strange. My roomate's ex was like that and he went..she was "speaking in tounges" and had all of her knee pain cured *shes apparently had bad knees since she was 12 cuz of dancing*, and she stopped seeing my roomate because she said that shes sined with him because they had pre-marital sex. Now she told me she wont even look or talk to my room mate because when ever she does she gets indecent thoughts, which are sins, and is going against god..... confused.gif

This is why i dont get religion. People go so out of left feild and do crazy things because of it.

Im off school untill monday, but then im gonna talk 2 my buddy, who is the class rep, and get him to talk to the head of the department and the founder of our section of the school.
