I'm putting the screw back in the same hole but their is nothng their for it to thread into , it wont each the other side, and i cant see insdie to see if the things that tightens the mirror postition is moving or not.....this happen to anyone else, i will never unscrew that screw again

i did the same thing and broke the mirror trying to get it back in. after getting the new mirror though it just screwed right in. just jiggle it around a little and keep trying to put it in it might take a bit of pressure but it should go in.

haha...i did the exact same thing, i had to get a new mirror assembly, because the peice that the screw goes into fell apart and was loose inside the mirror somewhere. i just went to the junkyard and picked one up for 20 bucks...beats the $80 that the dealer wanted

i have to figure out how to wire my mirror... i was messing with it yesterday night. it is definately scary to screw those screws back in. because they don't tighten completely, just enough to be in good contact with the door. i decided to not mess with it after screwing it back in. haha
edit: realized this is about the rearview... lol i messed mine up to, hit the junk yard and got it for 10 bucks off graham. didn't try to unscrew this one though. i'm not messing with it. its hard to put on aswell, its mounted in a very strange way..
