i think it used to be allowed to be talked about when the site first started, but its not anymore, because its illegal and dangerous and they dont want to promote it. btw this topic probably wont be talked about for long.

i dont get why you guys need to talk about it so much anyway?

talk about street racing is now blocked on her... wow..lol

well i can see why Coomer and the mods would put a block on it... in todays world ever one is quick to put a law suite on the next person. Just thinking about it, if lets say I talk about some street race i was a part of, and some 16 year old reads about it, thinks its something he or she wants to try. Goes out and tries it kills him or her self. Then their parents find out their kid read that info on this site. Next you know site is shut down, cause a law suit put on the Owner of this site. Its happend before and it will happen again. So in order for the other 90 percent of car talk to go on this site. block the thing that could end up getting the site shut down.

^forum rules

The one that posting about street racing breaks:

1. Keep your posts clean. These forums, like the rest of the site, are designed to be a family-safe environment, and that means that you must watch your use of obscenities. This also means not attacking others in your posts. You must respect everyone here. If you're not going to post something helpful or respectful, don't post. This also means no pornography, sexist, racist, hateful, or illegal content as well.

because street racing is illegal, it breaks rule 1, therefore it is not tolerated on this forum.

edit: And in all honest, ive beem a member of this forum for a year+ now, and this topic has come up at least once a month. I sure as hell know I am sick and tired of it, and I can venture to guess that the mods are tired of it. The rules are there for a reason, YOU chose to be part of this community...no one is forcing you too stay. If you don't like the rules, then go to another car forum, where talk of street racing is allowed.

I believe that one reason is to protect you, because if you're talking about street racing or how you street raced this or that time or whatever, and there was an investigation going on at the same time, what you post could be used as evidence.

Street racing is becoming a more and more serious offense, and with a lot of innocent people getting killed in accidents from it, I'm not suprised. The fact is, while many people have street raced and continue to do so, there are too many little kids out there who just got their license, have little driving experience (though they all think that they are the awesomest drivers in the world), have played WAY too much Need For Speed Underground, and don't think twice about screwing up their life and whoever they kill or injure when they wreck. For that reason, I support efforts against street racing in general. Take it to the track!

Now, there are quite a number of people I know, who are very mature, responsible people, that go out and street race regularly. They are very smart about it, and very careful. And...

They DON'T talk about it.

because talking about going to the track is so much more fun. talk to your friend on how you entered turn 1 or how you maneuver the chicane. discuss techniques: you'll become better drivers.

another post i can agree with...its just a shame everything turns into a law suite these days..it really is a shame..i also appoligize if im breaking the forum rules for bringing this up its just i have gotten posts back from other people saying that street racing is "retarted" when the topic had nothing to do with that what so ever
