Well, I'm getting a new car. I was looking at a car in particular (I won't say which one), and I am very close to buying it.. BUT.. I then found a 2006 Sonata that I like that is well below the cost of the car I was originally looking at. Like $10,000 less.

What do you think? What do you know about Sonatas? I'm researching the web, but I'd like to hear ya'lls input.

Hyundais seem like real nice cars, you get a lot of nice options for a good price, and they have pretty good warrantys too. I've never checked out a Sonata, but the Tiburons I looked at were very impressive.

its a Hyundai...need i say more?

and WTF is up with the chrome?

edit: ok im being a dick. Hyundai are good for there money, but there fit and finish on the interior and what not is less then steller, and to me if ur gonna be sitting in it, and have to SEE it, y not have it be pleasing to your eyes? (im going from the stand point of an '02 elantra's interior) But if your looking bang for your buck, the sonata isnt that bad.

hmm...well i don't kow much about Sonatas and they havn't really been around long enouph to know if it's a reliable as like... a Toyota wink.gif ..BUT going off of purely looks, definately looks nicer than some of the previous ones. your not going to find much of a variety for aftermarket options, if that's something you want..otherwise it looks nice, and thier fairly cheap, so i'd take both for a test drive and compare from that, then you'll know which one's the better one for you. Those wheels are look really nice on it tho smile.gif

hope that help a little

edit: hey i didnt see that dual exhaust before..thats pretty cool

after seeing that interior, its a VAST improvment from 2002.

not bad jen, if ur looking for something like that, and its a good price, id go for it.\

edit: I'd still like someone to explain the chrome rims to me....

Okay, since everyone knows my other choice now.. I'd appreciate it if you don't compare the two, because I already know the obvious choice. Let's just talk about the Sonata, please.

SONATAs are ok. it's pretty much similar to a 03^ Honda ACCORD. i mean ya won't have TOYOTA celica like handling, a BMW 3 series power, or a LEXUS IS interior, but wat u get will be very good gas mileage, a newer car, bigger interior and smoother ride (i presume). i think the newer sonatas actually have pretty good reviews. if i price is right.. it's worth a consideration. but if you're looking for a car that's more fun.. i'll suggest ya keep on looking.

My feeling on Hyundais is the same as Kias. Good cars if you dont plan on driving an ungodly amount. Unfortunetely ive put 120k on my car in 5 years so that car wouldnt work for me

honestly Jen, its about your financial situation.

if u can afford the s2k, and dont really need a practical (carries more then 2 people, and more then a 1/2 gallon of milk in the trunk) then go for it. But if ur finances are close, and ull need to carry a full gallon of milk, then go with the sonata.

edit: after reading whats above...sonata all the way. The s2k's loan will be pretty hefty, and quite alot per month (so i believe)

Insurance premium for the S2000: $1250.
Insurance premium for the Sonata: $800.

Okay, enough comparing. Please stay on topic.
