that's probably a ridiculous amount of money for 30 HP. i dunno, if it's like 1500 for that stuff, just put the $$ towards a swap. you'll never get really good NA numbers out of a 7afe. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

I disagree that you cannot get good numbers out of the 7A-FE engine. It just takes a little more work.
One of the easiest and cheapest ways to make your engine quicker is to go down the road of lightened parts. By using lighter parts the engine has to use less force to get the parts moving and can therefor transfer more energy to the wheels. It is all about inertia and momentum. Some of the parts that you can get are the lightened flywheel that you were talking about. Also, lightened underdrive pulleys and cam sprockets. You will notice a definate difference with even just one or two of these things. OBX offers the pulleys and sprockets and several companies offer the flywheels. Other things you can look at that are not overly expensive are a high flow air intake or a piggy back module for your ecu. Both of these can help to add 10-25 horsepower depending on what you get. I hope this helps out a bit. This post has been edited by Striking4: Aug 1, 2003 - 3:28 PM |
