college dilemma Options

well i just thought i'd share my current feelings with you guys.

i just finished my freshman year in college. i attend UOP, University of the Pacific, which is located in Stockton, CA. its not a bad school. its a private college. very old and small. it has less students then my highschool... about 4,000 undergrads, my highschool had about 4,400 students. my major is mechanical engineering.

my dilemma started during senior year in HS, when i was deciding what college to attend. i really wanted to go to UC Irvine, but it was too far away (about 6 hours) from me. i know people go to colleges far away, but i didnt want to be so far away incase anything happened at home. uop was only an hour away so i decide to go there. plus it wasnt so bad for my major anyways.

now that a year has passed, im starting to really regret not going to irvine. a private college is just so different. i dont beleive its for me. although im sure i can continue through for the next 4 years, i dont wanna go through my life regretting not going to the college i actually wanted to.

my mind is just so torn apart right now. i dont know if i should transfer to irvine or just keep going...
