Is removing the valve cover hard? i assume pull the normal stuff off like plug wires and those obvious nuts, plus the one or two near the electrical wire (entering from the front). Do i need to cover it to protect it from dust and such while I'm painting? Idk whats under it frown.gif

Looking good thumbsup.gif

I am going to be replacing my valve cover gasket soon, so I figure I'll paint it while its off. Did you do any sanding before hand and did you primer?

I will probably go with gold as well to match the wheels.. what brand spray paint is that?

Dupi-color....I did not sand at all jut cleaned it up with degreaser....SVT its real easy take off the nuts there are 6 then had to unplug the alt. to move the cables out of the waythen used a flat head screw driver and a rubber mallet and it came right off.

Well what, so hand tight? Tighened with a wrench? I understand it isn't ft/lbs, but I do not have a BGB or owners manual or anything like that, so when I take care of my valve cover gasket (probably this weekend) I don't want to over tighten it and break something, you know? Really would not make my weekend...

Little late, but the valve cover bolt torque spec(called Cylinder Head Cover in the Toyota Service Manual) is 52 in.-lbf
