Because they are easy to work on and make SENSE!

I'm doing an FMIC and 3" exhaust and gutting and porting the upper plenum on an 88 300zx SOHC V6 turbo (VG30ET)...

What a piece of CRAP! First off, there are more vacuum lines than an auto store probably stocks.., no I'm not exagerating either... EVERYTHING is vacuum controlled! EVEN THE AIR VENTS IN THE CABIN! Since it's turbo, it has a vacuum canister and pump so it can supply all of this vacuum needed under boost. IT HAS no intercooler to begin with.. and to make it even worse, the front end/bumper design is the crapiest I've EVER seen.. making doing an FMIC such a PITA.. specially since the engine bay is chock full o'****! O, and it has a clutch fan to cool it's nearly horizontal mounted radiator.

Wait, it's actually worse... there is probably a mile worth of vac lines and I think that is a pretty realistic number to guess on.. and thing uses an AFM.. Now, I think everyone here with a 1st or 2nd gen 3s swap realizes how crappy it is when you have a vac leak.. now imagine having to sift through probably a hundred different vacuum lines..

I had to vent that out... atleast I get to look forward to doing a 20V swap on a 92 celica ST this week... what could be easier?

g'day!
