On friday, me and sarah are heading down to Columbus OH, to pickup her ST coupe. We have gone through all the info we need regaurding importing the car into canada, and gettin it regiestered, but are still trying to figure out what we need done to export the car. I have the information here about the basic requirements, documentation requirements and the when presented info i got off the US customs agency website, but heres what i have a problem with. It says for a vehicle with a title thats a personal title, i need to have a title thats up to date saying if its clean or salvage, i need to have the vin #, and the original title. Fine, picking them up on friday when i go and the car has a clean title. But heres where im gettin confused on how to get them this stuff. It says "Exportation at land border corssing points. For thouse vehicles exported by highway, or under their own power. i. The required documentation must be submitted to customs at least 72 hours prior to exporting; and ii. the vehicle must be presented to customs at the time of exportation". Im trying to figure out if this means i have to submit the actuall title document to them 72 hours b4 or can i bring them a copy? also how am i suppost to give them this info? Do i e-mail it? fax it? or do i have to go across the boarder to give it to them?? Im heading back home to Windsor tomorrow, so i dont know if this means i need to head back early tomorrow to go get the title from the guys in columbus? or does this mean i have to just go across the boarder and give them a copy of it?? or am i just suppost to send it to them somehow? Any help would be greatly greatly appriciated. I dont wanna have to go over there and look like a moron, or have our car sitting at customs for the entire weekend.
