ok guys
well to start off i use to drive a WS6 trans am pushing about 370-380 hp ..... long story short it was stollen and i never saw it again not even parts of it lol ....... 2nd i got an RSX it wasnt pushing as much .....more like a lil bit less then half of the trans am hp ...... once again long story short i totaled it ...... i got the celica as a cash car last minute to get me back and forth from work and to tell you the truth i would have never bought one if i had a choice at the time but like most of us if you arent in love with this car already you fall in love with it and thats what i did but i havent fallen in love with the power it has i got a 5sfe pushing about 135 give or take a lil more with CAI .......i have been really missing the power like in my other 2 cars and yes i will be doing my 3sgte around december of this year hopefuly......... but until then i got this guy with a honda single cam that i get at the begining of the race (legal) but i hate hondas 3rd it always pulls on me cause its longer then ours ......not saying i have lost every race to him i also dont thing hes the best driver but when there is someone in the car drving the car well the 3rd catches me or barly passes me sometimes :-( i mean i think my car dose very well seeing as how he has after market headers, stage 4 clutch intake, and dropped to the grown and im pretty much stock except for my cai but every race we have he thinks he beats me i know i know its just cause he thinks hes better then me cause he has a honda and yes they are faster then us but what i hate is that once i do my swap he will always say that he beat me with my other motor cause of what every reason and i would love to make it very clear that i beat him at the track with my 5sfe ...... now i guess i have a question .... besides CAI , headers, exhaust and all that other good stuff is there to make our gear ratio longer or something ????? just wondering well guys let me know what you think thought this would be a good convo ....... |

i hate hondas....idk about gear ratios and stuff but u could do a lil weight reduction,tuck some of the engine bay that would help at racing.

as for your gear ratios the only thing you can really do is drop a new tranny in there. you can drop in a mr2 Turbo tranny with hybrid axles that would help a little. you may want to do that anyway with the swap. there is also a v6 solara tranny that i believe you can put in there but i am not sure on all the details. if you search for it you should be able to find the info without a problem. from what i remember it is a really hard to find tranny.
of course weight reduction would help a lot as well. cf trunk and hatch, remove back seats (who sits in them anyway?), and the hardest weight reduction is your gut. Edit: if you are hard core about it you can also lose your a/c. and i don't think tucking your engine bay makes a diff. it just makes it look really nice.
