I posted a while back about doing stuff to my 218,000 mile 94 Gt. I took out the air box under the fender and put in a K&N drop in filter. Other than that the motor and exhaust is completely stock.
I want to keep this car forever, it is my primary driver car right now and I would like to keep it that way...these Celica's are so different and good looking to me I never want to get rid of it. I have never had any engine problems with it besides burnt spark plugs. Anyways, I live close to a Jotech here in TX, I have never had experience there before, but I think I may want to get my 5sfe rebuilt in a while and have them do a few mods just to get my HP up to around 200...new header, exhaust, head. I've read a lot about a 3sgte swap..my car is an automatic and I want to keep it that way. I'm not looking into making this a race car or have it turbocharged/NOS..I think that a complete engine swap would definetely lower the dependability and cause more problems than good. I like the good gas mileage and I also read that some guys on here do get good results with fixing up the 5sfe. I'm not good with working on motors, thats why I brought up jotech..I don't know who to trust with my car besides my local tire shop, lol. I basically would like my Celica to be as fast and sound as good as it actually looks.. I'm tired of it being a Sports Sedan, lol. Its sad that my wifes new Honda CRV feels faster than my car, lol. I also read on here that your engine loses horsepower with more miles.....if thats true thats real bad news for me.. Should I wait on exhaust until I ever decide to get the engine work done, or would it be okay to do now...any idea on full cat-back price? Thanks guys! |
