A co-worker's boyfriend has an '85 Celica Supra. The body is immaculate except that it needs a new hood and passenger fender (wrecked and rusted, but the rest of the car is dent-free). The damage is minimal, so I don't suspect any damage to the frame. A new headlight may also be needed. I haven't driven it at all, but he drives it often and claims it's in good shape mechanically. It has the factory 5MGE in it and 5-speed tranny approaching 200,000 miles. I've been trying to get him to sell it for about 2 months now.

He's asking $1200. Think it's worth that?

Just keep in mind you're talking about a 22 year old car. Regardless if it is a "Supra" or not, you will have hard time finding parts and hard time finding them in the junkyard becuz most of them have been scrapped to metal cubes already.

check under the plastic in the hatch just because 3rd gen celicas, 2nd gen supras are netorious for rusting out under there. But $1200 isnt a bad price. Me and my girl friend are trying to sell her 83 celica GT for $1000-$750

too much imo. check rust near the gas cover. very common, same with the hatch.

celicasupra.com is the source for those cars. we have a local guy with a 2JZ swapped 84 P type. =]
