Ok for those that know me, know that I really don’t have much to do at work, so I just sit and think about a lot of stuff. So as I was there looking at security cameras looking at my Celica in the parking lot, a 7th gen. passes by the screen then a 2002 Eclipse. Reality punched me right in the face. There is never going to be any real support for the 6GC. Aftermarket companies and Toyota knows they well never make any real money buy supporting a car no longer being produced. With the popularity of the 7GC there is was to much money to be had by supporting the new Celica’s. There are not going to be more new 6GC owners. It’s sad but it’s so true. Just something I felt like getting off my chest.

i feel you, but i take pride in that i drive a 6gen and that when i go out i wont see more than 1 or 2 on the streets (on average). The civic is a nice, popular car and everyone and their mama has one. how often do you stop at a light and pull up next to 2 civics. and where i live, theyre both automatic rice rockets most likely. so yeah, youre probably right. but theres other ways to improve our cars. and dont think of it as an older model. its "vintage"
or better yet, "retro" ![]() This post has been edited by LuDaChRiS: Aug 7, 2003 - 5:08 AM |

i feel you man.... it sucks trying convince a company to start making some stuff for the 6gen, but 95st celica has a very good piont. our cars are defenately head turners. every one always have to look twice before turning away from our cars.
hell our cars look so good that a gas station attendant mistaken my coupe to be brand spankin new. he walked up to me and asked what kind of car is it. and when i told him it was a celica he thought that it was a 2004 model. either he was really stupid or our cars just look that good! -------------------- Chris Malaqui

Why did I get a 6gen...because I like the look of it.
Even after 7 years it still doesn't seem to show its age. Here in France there aren't many around, so it's a real head turner. It's a shame about aftermarket parts, but unfortunately the 6gc was superceeded by the 7gc and being that it's new, a good seller and there are a lot about, it's normal that large aftermarket companies make parts for them. (Business is Business!). All I can say is...Thank goodness for this site. BTW: Spare a thought for me, the majority of parts I get I need to import myself from the States. |

Yeah, 6Gc's aren't that well supported here either.I'm always on the lookout on Ebay for that something different. All the emphasis goes on that market which has the greatest potential, and as previously said the 7gc seems to massive stateside, although not so much over here.
If you want proof of how hard we at 6gc find it to get our bits you need only look at how many "gimme's" there were on the Forum when one of the 6gc members had trashed his car and was breaking it up for parts! ![]() |

nope, the turbo and SC kits that are either out, or comming out are for the GTS celica. either way, you cant go farther than that. the way the GTS's engine is setup, it has high CR and that Lift makes it a little longer to spool a turbo. plus i have read about those 230whp 7th gens, they still cant get traction. that is the case for all FWD cars, there is a point where you cant go farther and still drive the car daily. luckily the parts are out there to take the devoted few that far, ie 3sgte i personally like that aftermarket sucks for our cars. it keeps a lot of people away from it, keeping it a rare car. look at whats happening with 240sx's. they are getting popular because of all the car magazines giving a lot of people the wrong impressions. the resale of 240's has gone up, much like mkiv supras. honestly, despite what the supra is, its still a car, where the newest version is a 1998, many probably have engines that were beaten on and have high miles. the price skyrocketed after FnF, and sadly, has barely come down. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

TRD doesnt support much of anything, they make a few things for every car, but dont go all out on any of them. they are too concerned with toyota atlantic and F1 to spend time developing street performance parts

Im going to disagree with this... nothin personal K2. TRD supports the hell out of the 6th gen... just not TRD USA. Go to your local Toyota dealership and order the TRD ALL PARTS CATALOG - is like 30-40 bucks. and then learn Japanese.. LOL actually if you spend some time you can figure out everything in it.. newayz there are a BUNCH of stuff for the 6th gen in there and you can usally order most of it from TRD it just costs a little more. -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

I agree with neverstop. You can get stuff from trd it's just a little more complicated than straight up ordering it. Your best bet is to get to know someone in the parts department at a toyota dealership. Get in good with them and they can usually work around things and get you whatever you want. I got a buddy at the local dealership that hooks me up pretty good when I need stuff. It makes life a lot easier.

Does anybody have a TRD parts catalog?? I think we need to make a big list of the parts available for our 6th gens through TRD....we might find some cool stuff worth looking into getting as a GB or something.

i meant that number of 6gc owners will never go up example is in the world there are 100,000 celica owners .. if one owner sells his car to someone there is not going to be 100,001 owner it's still going to be 100,000 owners
