I've looked around and done searches... can i take the turbo from the 3sgte and bolt it, and everything with it (pipes/intercooler/mani), straight onto a 3sge? i know i'll at least need the 3sgte wiring harness, but is there anything else i need? sorry, noob here.

Yeah it'll bolt on. Intercooler won't.
Why would you need a harness to put a turbo onto a 3sge? This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Sep 28, 2007 - 8:18 AM -------------------- |

just thought you may need the wiring harness... i don't know a whole lot about turbos, but i figured it was all mechanical, that there wouldn't be any difference. thanks.
would i need to swap the pistons/head or anything else? This post has been edited by stetsonaw: Sep 28, 2007 - 9:05 AM -------------------- ~Andy

No you don't need to swap any of that. You can put the exhaust manifold, turbo and downpipe from the 3sgte on there, you may need to modify the exhaust path to it mates up correctly.

Not quite so fast.....
You will also need to fab oil feed/drain. And the coolant lines if you want to keep the CT26 water cooled [good idea]. And you will have to mod some of your GE harness to work with your GTE ECU [unless you keep the GE ECU and piggyback ect]. You will also need a positive pressure MAP sensor [does the GE even have a MAP sensor? The older ones are MAF not MAP based]. -------------------- ![]() |
