hey wats up guys? i just bought a megan racing gt universal muffler and a test pipe for a custom exhaust. just wondering what you guys recommend i do. should i get rid of the catalytic convertor and replace it with the test pipe or leave the catalytic convertor get new piping and weld on the test pipe onto it with the muffler? or not use the test pipe at all and just get new piping and leave the catalytic convertor on? give me your inputs. i want that deep loud sound.

if you want a deep performance sound your best bet in my oppinion is to go with a custom bent exhaust from your shop of choice with a high flow cat and one of magnaflows long resinators....then a magna flow muffler or one of your choice...from what i hear they are the best when it comes to a nice deep sound...i will be getting this set-up shortly from a header back...i dont want anyhting loud, raspy, or riceish. GL and let us know what you decided to do.

if you got a header, you better use 2 resonators, headers can make the car louder

well i figured a high flow cat, a long magnaflow resonator, and a magnaflow mufler should sound pretty good...i was also looking at this muffler/tip too

i wouldnt go any larger then 2.5"..i think im gonna go with 2.25 caus you have more back pressure and it'll be better..jus my oppinion...anyhting larger then 2.5 or 2.75 is worthless if your car is basically stock

When I got my exhaust put on, the guy told me to leave the resanator off. I got 2.25" catback. The stock res was alot smaller, so the guy told me he would have to leave it off unless i wanted to buy a new one. I decided to leave it off for the time being cuz i was kinda low on funds. I get a loud winding noise between 3-4k RPM. So I am not exactly sure why i have the noise but thats my setup. If you dont want the rice sound, dont follow this ^^
