Windsor, Ontario, Canada *my current residence* is "Canada's Automotive Capital". They say that because we have Ford, GM, and Chrystler plants in the city. Any ways, since ive been down here for the last year and a bit, ive noticed that there are people EVERY where have these stickers on their back bumpers saying "Out of a Job yet?? Keep buying forigen". Its a stupid by-law that people are trying to pass here in windsor to make it illegal for forigen cars to be sold in Windsor, and people who own forigen cars get taxed heavier every year. People in Windsor feel that the car market since its mostly imports being bought now, is killing the economy. Like, i drive my car around and ive had ppl give me dirty dirty looks since its a Toyota. But the funniest thing is, people are driving around here in thouse Geos that are based off the same platform as a corolla..like the mid 90s one..i dunno what the geo model is called. But they get pissed off that people are driving corolla's but they are driving a corolla marked as a Geo. Its amazing how stupid people can be at times. I had one guy tell me i shouldnt buy any more import cars because they are all made in Japan. confused.gif Granted, our cars were, but he was talking about like the new camry's and the matrix..EVEN though, both are made in the US or canada, and the matrix is also the same thing as a Vibe, and the matrix is only availble in north america. Any ways, i just thought i would share this stupid idea thats sweeping through windsor and surrounding areas.
