QUOTE(lagos @ Oct 19, 2007 - 2:04 PM) yeah, thats always missing with ever engine set, because its part of the body harness not the engine one. so they never include that. that makes sense. I've been looking at some pics of front and rear clips and it looks like that may def be the way to go. I'm seeing $2,000-$2,500 for a rear clip ($2,750 with LSD) does that sound about right? QUOTE(lagos @ Oct 19, 2007 - 2:04 PM) getting the engine in is the easy part. getting it to run is the hard part. most people who get these engine sets end up swapping for a year or more while they hunt down parts, and try to figure out what vac lines go where. with a clip, you have everything, and can label everything before taking it out. yeah I would definately like to have the install time under a month which means having everything prior to the install. |

you want a celica st185 clip. not an mr2 one. the mr2 clip will make things even harder.

Yeah, if you have a GT then you can swap over all of the brackets and accessories, so that's not too bad. If one was really stuck on getting an E153 then an MR2 engine set or clip wouldn't be a bad idea, if they had a GT. The harness is a little harder to convert, but that's generally not the problem of the person doing the swap anyway

So as long as the swapper owns a GT, by swapping all the accesories and bracket over, the MR2 rear clip would be a better idea? I mean cheaper right, if your not going with the lsd.

*IF* you're stuck on the idea of using an E153 tranny, yes, that probably would be the cheapest route. But you still need three things: the parts to convert the tranny linkage to FWD format, ST205 mounts, and the custom axles. At the end of the day, it's almost a wash (with an ST205 front clip, you get the axles and mounts you need and the linkage off the AWD tranny).

QUOTE(cv7713 @ Oct 19, 2007 - 11:52 AM) ok heard ya... just don't really have the space for a front or rear clip and would like to avoid the extra charge if possible . if not, I will get the clip... komar, did the injector resistor pack and fuel pump resistor come with the engine or did you find them seperate? anyone else have any experiences buying a complete engine with or without the clip??? also if you had a good purchase experience, who you used? I got very lucky and so far I think I got everything needed for the swap. I am still working on putting everthing together. Dr tweak is finishing up the wiring. Once I get it back I will continue working on it Can anyone post a pic of what the 3rd ecu plug iirc looks like. It was posted that I might be missing that.
