Hey guys, I have a 2000 celica gt-s and want to find out what the real problem is. I would change my oil and after a week all of it is gone. I am on the newcelica.org and all I could find is that the GT's burn oil not so much the gt-s. Well I know its not leaking oil, because its not. If its burning oil why would all of the oil get burned up after a week of just regular driving. I mean I hit lift once in a while, but not all the time. Theres no loss in power. Should I just get the motor rebuilt, or by a new motor. What would it be, the seals are gone? Piston rings screwed? It would be nice to know.

wow, when you start do you have a blueish smoke ? No spots on ground when you park your car? if its burning oil it can be 2 places... 1 worse than the other.... sometimes rebuilds cost more than a swap...like for the 7afe it costs almost same amount for swap as rebuild...cheaper to swap with a 4age 20v... anyways.... just keep an eye out... ask someone to start your car in the morning when you are outside looking at the tailpipe... its gonna be just when your car stands in one place...like overnight... also another way to tell if its burning is that your tailpipe inside will be black... and on outside a little...if you touch it with your finger, and its comes out black, means its carbon...oil....

Dude, every where I go I have black all over my rear bumper. I have never noticed blue smoke. I can't find any used motors. I would definately go the swap route over the rebuild route. I don't know any sites to find the 2zz motor. Every where I look its the 2jz or the 3sgte.

oil pan gasket being gone can cause a car to leak/burn more...you might wanna check it out.

Clean your MAFS and your intake/throttle body.

Here's a 2ZZ in Portland, OR for $800, posted on 10/17 so they probably still have it!
