supercar wars is gonna be badass.

the mazda rx-7 gonna be reborn in 2006. supposively there will be a mazdaspeed verison using turbo rotary making about 300 bhp and base model using the n/a renisis (spelling?) rx-8 engine.

the rx-8 wont be discontinued they will both be coming out at the same time.

that'd be so badas if it does come out. another pure sports car.

Sorry guys, but I'm with Natalie on this one. If they do release the Supra again, it shouldnt be called the Supra because every concept Ive seen looks like complete ass and it would ruin the Supra name.

Sorry but these rumors are nothing new...

If you want to hear more rumors check out this thread on carspyshots:

There are a couple of pics, but the styling is not quite right yet.

Not many.

Nate how good is your source on the Celica? I hate to be a bringer of doom, but it's really strange for a car to be released regularly for 20/30 years or whatever then to survive after a several year gap. Are they going to run the 7th gen untill 2007? I don't think so..

Unless they brought it out sooner biggrin.gif

I would imagine it would be the general five years of the same body style. IMO I would guess around '05-'06 there would for sure be a new Celica out.

well, I think it was nate that informed us about the new solara before I saw it in any mags (maybe it was someone else)

so mybe we should trust his sources, but a 2007 8th gen? that seems like a long time to wait, it seems that sales are sharply dropping off on the 7th gen, even the gt-s, probably because of the rsx-s, but I don't care either way, I probably wont have enough for an 8th gen come 2006, and I'm definately happy with the 6th gen.

BRING BACK THE 6TH GEN j/k

Nate your posts are confusing bro smile.gif

I still don't believe toyota will run a celica model more than 5 years. They have run the celica for 32 years now, and the year gaps were:

1g - 2g: 6 (first model so really a test run! car saw several updates over 6yrs)
2g - 3g: 4
3g - 4g: 4
4g - 5g: 4
5g - 6g: 4
6g - 7g: 5 (such a beautiful / well selling car, why not run it 5 years smile.gif)

So I think the 8th gen could come out as early as the end of 2004 through to mid 2005.

Thats just a guess though!

You know what I noticed? The headlights on that Supra concept floating around on the internet...the one in the japanese magazine. The headlights look exactly like the 2000gt's. It's kinda cool that they're going retro.

Oh yea Geek_One....the links are a big misleading..the 1st one having old concept pics and the next one for saying it will have the 4.3 liter (presumably) 3UZ-FE engine. Toyota has tinkered and finalyl made the V-10 streetable. All of this information was new at the time...but thanks for the posts! =)
