FMU=Fuel Mangement Unit?
FPR= No idea????
turboxs MBC =???
EGT bun =???
FMIC= Front Mount Intercooler, id rather have this but more expensive for piping??

yeah i didnt mean to say header, and thanks for the correction of the Turbo manifold

fuel management unti from worst to best vortech 12:1 fmu, apexi safc, emanage, standalone.
fpr- fuel pressure regulator
I think the turboxs mbc is for reading the boost. not sure though. for us 5sfe guys all we have to do is hook up the 2 bar map sensor and we are golden.
I dont know what an egt BUN is lol

fmic real important if you want boost you're going to have to cool down that hot compressed air some how to keep your engine healthy.

you'll need a downpip fab'd for your exhaust. I dont think you need a new fuel rail. Top mount is a NO NO since you dont have a vented hood. besides you dont want one anyway you'll get heat soak. Side mount is okay but why? You'll have to use piping to do sidemount you might as well do front mount. You can stick with the stock fpr. We are just looking to get to 200 not 300. I highly recommend a wide band for tuning purposes and a boost gauge don't want boost spiking or to find out if you're leaking boost. I recommend just a safc for tuning. its easy to learn

add fuel when you need it for boost. take away fuel when you're running to rich. simple. plus it looks cool. lol.

alritey..this is just a hypothetical rite?

buy the parts for cheap (not cheap parts) one at a time, taking care of a big thing, then a few small things, then another big piece, then more smaller pieces..that way you have money for yourself in between and you can LEARN about each product you pick up when you get it. it takes time. yes, you can just go buy everything out there rite now, get it shipped n have it with you. then what? at this point you don't know much in terms of turbo installation / tuning, and if you slow everything down n buy em within a matter of a year (or less, or even shorter amount of time, whatever you're more comfortable with) and learn about the car you are driving as well as the parts you are going to be installing.

like bc said, you're going to need some custom fab for stuff, so expect that to be a couple extra dollars because you can't just buy em. (down pipe, intercooler piping, etc)

learning is just half the experience. the more you know, the more reliable you can make your car and the more fun you will have in the long run. i get caught up in the short run easily, but sometimes ya gotta take it easy.

my .02 =)

a) you are 16 you can't handle a 3sgte celica
b) you have MINIMAL driving experience you DO NOT need a faster car
c) several people have told you HANDLING is a great start.
d) if you can handle BETTER you can go FASTER

you start with the driver then you move to the car...
learn how to drive, get a good solid suspension setup, good brake setup

then when you are older more experienced and more mature...upgrade the power..

Well put. Some wise advice for your bro. Stick to it and stop wanting more power. I can just imagine, remember that one kid who jumped into his dads shelby 500 and crashed it LOL. way to much power.

i thought he just parked it into the garage for him laugh.gif

4-5k is wel enough for a 3sgte, and 16 u can't handle the power, I am 17 and and have a 6th gen celica with a 3sgte swap running 15 pounds of boost, and alot of other mods and its crazy fast, but my first car was a 300zx TT so it makes up for the experience, its ur choice in the end

You will get boost happy. Your right foot will get heavier and heavier. Trust us you don't want a turbo yet.

Intake, Header, Exhaust.

Drag is not even fun no more.

Auto X your car. You're heart will beat faster than trying to get low numbers.

SUSPENSIONS. HUGE spoiler for down force haha.

I strongly suggest researching on how turbo's work before buying anything turbo related to your car. Picking parts off a bin without proper set up can cause issues. Also with your 4-5K will you be installing and fabricating your turbo kit? Or will you be having a shop build it for you?

Also, a car equipped with a turbo has a beefier supsension. With more HP you will stress out your suspension much more, especially with hard launches and turns.

You should install a JDM VTAK controller, so that you can do this!!!1111

IPB Image

You don't need to go fast at 16. You need to learn how to drive first. Go purchase a set of Koni shocks and Ground Control Coilovers and a good set of tires. That alone will be like night and day for someone your age... or anyone that is coming from stock suspension. Spend a little, and learn. Spend some more, learn some more. Don't just throw money at it. If I had four grand I would put it in a CD at the bank and gain some interest.

where are you located? if you are serious about putting this money into your car and live near New England at all talk to JDM guy tuning, they are great with this stuff and specialize in the 5sfte turbo set up (i know you have an ST, but they are good with these stock engines). they could atleast point you in the right direction

I thinks you'd need more than 4 grand for that itchy...

GOOD suspension is around a grand minimum.

Tein coilovers new are 1200...
add in sway bars, good tires, front and rear strut bars. you're close to $2,300
then if you get really detailed light weight 17s....thats 2grand.
boom 4 grand right there. or 2,300 sans wheels

or Ohlin's shocks.....thats like 1500-2000.
custom coilovers......2 grand
then the wheels/tires/sways/strutbars/camberkits/pillowmounts
