I was driving normally when I was in first gear about to switch to 2nd gear the motor started to knock.

There's no check engine light and when the car is at idle it seems like it wants to turn off. I also checked the oil and it was fine still a light brown color.

Piston, oil pump, new engine (hopefully not)

If anyone can give me a slightly better idea as to what it might be I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

dude, Knocking means dead engine. Means you have thrown a rode or bent a valve, could be a lot of things but they all lead to one thing. New Engine.

if its knocking, ask Who's there?

I suggest you find a used engine and swap it yourself. you prolly find one used cheap.

then, the one you have now, rebuild, make it stronger add stuff, then in a year or so put it back and then turbo it.

or take this one to the shop and have it rebuild..

check your spark plug wires. 1 bad wire can cause some bad noises.

It knocks pretty hard so I'm almost sure it's not a spark plug wire.

Now if it comes to a full engine swap this is what I'm looking at.

Is the swap doable?
